Commercial for the Camaro
ok, I know this has been done to death.
But I thought of a really good one.
A couple with 2 small kids pull up in front of two dealerships next to each other. Chevy and Toyota.
they go inside and the wife goes to the Corolla, husband goes to the Camaro.
He looks at the Corolla and rolls his eyes. She looks at the camaro and rolls her eyes.
She say's "this has a back seat with room for the kids" while putting in the car seat.
Then he say's "so does this" while putting in the other car seat.
Pans to her sitting in the driver seat, which is getting kicked by the kid.
Pans to him grinning holding the steering wheel, with the kid in the back looking all around.
They both get out and she say's "this has 5 star front and side crash ratings"
He says' "So does this"
She say's "this says it gets 32/40 mpg" with an attitude expecting it to be the end of the convo.
He looks back and say's "so does this" with a big grin.
Next shot is with him having a disgusted look on his face, pans out to see him behind the wheel of the car they drove to the dealership in.
Then it goes to her with a smirk on her face, pans out to her driving the camaro.
Of course it would have quick shots of the Wheels, the Z28 logo, etc, to symbolize that it is the V8 model.

I think it's a great idea. Maybe not against a corolla, but any 2 door underpowered coupe would be a great comparison. The LS2 cars get gas milage that's as good or better than the Scion tC. Play that up, but make sure to mention that it's also got like 3x the horsepower.

well, I was thinking against the Corolla, because I sat in the back seat of one (not the present gen which may be roomier) but it was tight. Then I sat in the back of a Goat, and I had probably about as much room, but it was so much more comfortable.
The commercial plays to the audience that it will need to attract, in order to be a real volume seller. Young Families will be able to afford it, and it will be more than just an econobox, it will be a car that pulls at their senses, and is economical. Plus if the back seat is as big as the Current Goat's, it will be fine for 2 adults and 2 small kids.

Re: Commercial for the Camaro
Sorry but I think that's a stupid idea. It implies Corolla is Camaro's competition. That couldn't be further from the truth. I can't see GM ever making this commercial.

no, it implies that you can have a nice car that will do everything a crappy little econo box will, and be much more.
It is starting off with the wife thinking "practical" as usual, and the guy thinking "sports car" as usual. Then it lists off points where the sports car can be just as practical as the unexciting car, and therefore wins them both over.

well, I'd rather see them picking a Chevy over a Toyota, ratyher than picking a Chevy over a Chevy.
It will show them as smart shoppers who are not just brand loyal looking at all the Chevys and compromising. It will show them as looking at two completely seperate vehicles and picking the better of the two.

I'd like to see David Hasselhoff driving this car. Of course, it would be guised up like a fresher, newer KnightRider car.
Have Hasselhoff pull into Taco Bell and order through the drive thru ( ) because it's good business. Hasselhoff, GM and Taco Bell could benefit nicely from this joint venture.

Ummmm, NO. We're trying to shake the stereotype here, unless of course you're being sarcastic.....(can't tell because you didn't use the smiley).

Like was mentioned, you never advertise a competitors product like that especially if isn't true competition. Not a bad overall idea though, just needs to be polished.

Adding Taco Bell into the mix (because Taco Bell loves doing those kinds of "promotional things") would allow younger viewers (future target audience?) to view that "bad-***" Camaro and want one from their mommies and daddies and mommies and daddies and mommi...
But no. GM should not do that.
