Just rolling in from my local Chevy House. First off, I cannot believe that Chevy would let "salesmen" man the floor that can't tell me the differences between the lt/ls/1ss/2ss.....The first guy I talked to said there "are like three ss models.." This is supposedly GM's White Knight..I'm shocked the guys aren't armed to the gills with info, chompin at the bit to inform customers!!! I busted out my Vehicle Price Schedule (THANKS!!!) and he about ****. I had to learn him that there were only two SS lines. I think I killed his day. He got the sales manager who was a little better off.
Here's the skinny on what this particular Dealership is doing.
They have 12 Allocations. Three ordered already. He says the SS cars will have a $4900 Market "bump" because of it's "limited availability" and that the deposits he's taken were both $5000. He did say that the deposit really depends on the situation and what the customer is planning on financing and etc... Understandable.
I called the other 3 dealerships here in Albuquerque.
Dealership Allocation Sell at MSRP ?? Deposit Req'd
x 11 Doesn't know yet $2000
y 7 $5000 over depends
z 10 $4900 $1000
Seems like all of them are kinda following suit of the others with the $5000 bump. Is anyone else seeing the $5000?? More?? Less?? If I have to pay it I reckon I will but if there are dealerships not doing it, I don't mind saving $5000 and getting a free road trip out of it. Heck, more of a reason to buy it else where to be honest. I could use a week off from work!!
I'll be checkin out others across the state and reporting....

DO NOT PAY ABOVE MSRP. There are many dealers around that are putting MSRP in writing. For $5000 you could fly here to Buffalo to put your deposit down at MSRP, and fly back to pick the car up in March and still be ahead a few thousand dollars...

There is a reason nobody wants to move to Albuquerque.....it's full of morons. Morons that will probably pay waaaaaaay over MSRP.
Just emailed Classic in Grapevine. Hell I'd drive back from Buffalo for $5000.....you can keep the weather however.....lol

Only dealership in NM that will sell at MSRP......I got a call back late this afternoon from the Fleet MGR saying that they will be selling all of them at MSRP and that they might be able to do "better" depending on the car I order...sounds wicked friggin cool to me.
Gonna drag the 'ole lady in tomorrow after work...torn between the black and orange.
Either way, its gonna be a 2SS, RS, Inf Int Package, M6, Polished 20's, and possibly sunroof....
I was set on the Inf Orange but can see a sick black with the Inf Int Package....

Anyone photoshop these cars, with the colors listed here yet? It would be pretty cool to put some color on our Camaro wish lists! I'm lovin the sound of the Cyber gray met. stripes over either an orange or red.

Cheap as in '09 Cobalt SS?? This little beast has been getting plenty of attention, which is should with it's powertrain and handling abilities! If it wasn't such a crackerbox, I'd be tempted to get one for a daily driver! It's no camaro, but in my proce range, I'm going to have to go with no Camaro anyway.
