Concept the same as production, 500HP an option.

Of all the responses to this interview, I cant believe no one else has picked up on one thing that I did.
Near the beginning when Ed Pepper is asked about the production camaro, he responds, "It's going to be very, very close. I have seen the production coupe,..."
That means there is a production coupe out there somewhere already? Where is it? Is it out on the street somewhere already being tested?
Just thought I would throw that out there...

Back to the 2 V6 thing, I distinctly remember a Blue Ram AIR Trans AM with a supercharged 3800 in the Pontiac exhibit at the Detroit Autorama a few years ago and given that it looks like GM is going after the younger audience with the transformers tie in, I'd be surprised NOT to see a 300+ HP supercharged or turbo 6 in the 5th gen.

I think what he said still leaves it open for a SC version. If the "base" V8 and "HO" V8 is the same engine itself with the addition of a blower I would refer to it as 2 V6's and a V8. But then agian maybe I am still holding on the the hope of a 500hp SS and 400hp Z28.

I don't understand why this is a question. GM hasn't said they're making changes, and in fact has said the production car will be virtually indistinguishable from the concept - that pretty much settles in.
And I guess I don't get why it continues to be an issue for some people. I wasn't sure about the grill at first, but now, I love it because it fits the rest of the car. I hated the interior when I first saw it, but I've REALLY grown to like it - the new color scheme in the 'vert gives it a whole different look.
But I guess my point is, as Camaro fans we need to accept that this what we're getting. Not everyone will like it, and since there hasn't been a new Camaro for a long time everyone wants THEIR ideal car. Instead, we're going to get what GM produces - we have to accept it. If the car's successful (and it WILL be), then those that don't like the car will have the next generation to look forward to or even aftermarket parts to "fix" what they don't like. In the meantime - this is our Camaro - enjoy it.
