Screw Northstar... bring back the LT5!

No, seriously, I don't see it happening. The Gen IV motors are absolutely the right engines for a car that needs to be both affordable and moddable.

I doubt that is likely to happen either, for just about every reason Geoff listed. Also, the Northstars simply do not make as much power as an LS engine, so why go more money for less power?

That's to bad, because that could be one way that would differentiate's the muscle cars between Chevy and Pontiac.

It would differentiate them, sure. However, the GTO is currently 400hp. How would GM get 400hp out of the Northstar, and still keep it financially viable? They probably wouldn't.

OHV > OHC when it comes to power:cost ratio

if GM wants to give one version more power than another then a supercharger option package would be nice, of course that package should include forged internals. but only as an "option" that way some people can get the "affordable" 400hp V8, and not have to spend an extra 7k on an extra 100hp.
