CZ28.com Special Edition POLL- Price
I think it would be good to figure out what kind of prices people will be anticipating before we go much further with this project. I think that a special edition project is a great idea but realisticly we aren't going to get a 427 monster with all the upgrades and creature comforts and special wheels. wheels for 30K. So maybe by figuring out what price the average buyer will desire we can determine some ideas on upgrade packages.
So lets just get some ideas of just how much the average person is willing to spend and then we can determine kind of about what is feasable on the car.

Re: CZ28.com Special Edition POLL- Price
What's a loaded Mustang GT selling for?? (I'm a Canuck, so I don't know American car prices) ... but that's my price .
(this is supposed to be a "group purchase", right? With a group purchase "rate"?? ... I'd like a higher than GT level car, for the same price is what I'm asking for ).

Well it can't go over what the Vette costs so I'm gonna say topping out around $40k and maybe some change will be the ceiling on the special edition pricing, you can get a Vette for mid $40's if you shop around and I can't see them asking more for a Camaro. Top of the line 4th gen was low $30's but really nothing special motor wise, I want to see a special motor that justifies $40k, I don't want a stripe package and a ram air hood for $10k! I want something special like the 89 turbo trans am!

Re: CZ28.com Special Edition POLL- Price
Here is my thinking on the matter. I think we should shoot for the MSRP of the Shebly Mustang if we are to get Upper performance levels. The reason I say that is because I will hope that a model that will directly compete with the Shelby will be out when this car comes to market.
Shelby's are MSRP'd at 39,750 for the base model, optioned out the standard price is 45,750 before outragous markup.
GT Mustangs can be had for an MSRP of 23,500 and optioned out I have seen them as high as 31,200.
All of these prices are of coarse for coupes I haven't taken Vert's into consideration here.
I would be willing to pay 45K for car that would not just compete but beat the pants off of a Shelby.

I think this poll isn't really gonna be accurate at all, no offense.
I would think most people on here probably wouldn't buy a special edition, and what kind of special edition?
Are we talking Mach1 special edition or something like a GT500?

The cheapest MSRP on a GT is deluxe with no option at $25,995 before destination charge.
A fully optioned GT vert today is somewhere around $37k
In 2009 dollars that’s $27,445
I expect a special edition like this to go for under 40k, I don’t see a fully loaded SS to go for more than 38k.
I'm not going to be able to afford much more than $36-37k, so thats my max.

GT's now have availible rebates on them and can be bought for less than 23K.
Inflation, can and will effect the price of these cars but don't expect much of a jump between now, the 2007 model year and then, the 2009 model year...mearly 2 years away.
Ford has several more projects on the Horizon one of which is their new Shelby GT which is going to start at 35K for the coupe. Another project on the horizon is the next Boss of which is going to be in the upper 40's.
Unfortunately, thinking realisticly hear an upper model low production number Camaro is going to be very close to the price of 40K or maybe a bit more.
I am just anticipating this fact and getting prepared for it.
I surely do hope that they sell in the 30's though because that would leave me more room to opt for options on the car.
I guess all we can do now is wait patiently and hope that we get some prelimnary pricing info in January.
