The one solid piece of information regarding allocation that we have heard is that EVERY dealer will receive 2 cars right away, one being an order and the other being a V6 model for inventory. I am #1 on my dealers list so I should receive mine very early into production, hopefully

i heard that the first 2 models sent to dealers were v6 models. true? i hope not. i hope your right. what i really hope though is that the display model they get is not my personal car. i dont want a bunch of people getting in and out of my car without me there. i would rather my car come and me take it home the same day.

Most definitely. I would find out the delivery date and meet the truck at the dealer. I would closely watch the dealer prep. I would park it outside where I could see it as I filled out the paperwork. Then drive it home! Yes I would be that ****. But that's just me.

No, the information that was given out was that one of those 2 per dealer would be an ordered one. The other being the V6 model. I know they did something similiar to the "2 per dealer at launch" thing when the Traverse came out in the fall...As far as your car being a so called "display model", unless your dealer told you something, that car should not be used for display purposes and delivered directly to you! I would be fuming if they did that to me

I got 2 calls from my dealer this week. The first one on Monday was to tell me that the regional sales manager called and told them they could preference (1) of their pre-solds to be built in the first sequence. Since I've had my deposit down since August 2006, he told me mine was definitely the car they submitted. Then, today, I get another call telling me that the order had moved from 1100 to 3000 - Order accepted by production control. My dealer hasn't suggested dates as they don't want to promise something or get hopes too high to have to change it later. Doesn't matter anyway. It's coming.......and sooner than I expected based on the allocation discussions.

I also ordered a black 2SS/RS LS3/MN6 with the IO accent interior, Hurst STS, engine cover and car cover.

My dealer is in Raleigh, NC

This info is very consistent with what my dealer told me as well.

Unfortunately most dealers are like this, they know next to nothing. I had to hound my dealers a bunch of times to get a paint chip brochure, they didn't even know that they existed until I started bugging them.
