Re: Diesel Camaro!

It'll be very interesting to see where this engine proliferates into the line-up - both car and truck.

And I wouldn't be surprised if this new diesel also delivers 400 ft/lbs of torque all under 1,800 rpm.

Re: Diesel Camaro!

So its gonna be a new "clean" diesel... and get over 360hp, and maybe over 40mpg on the highway. It's a really cool idea for a car.... but It'd just be so weird in a Camaro....

Re: Diesel Camaro!

I am so happy to see the smaller diesel confirmed, it will be a huge hit! Guarantee in my area that alot of Ford guys will be looking at a GM Truck with a smaller diesel.

Now I think GM should have an even smaller one for the smaller cars. I would buy a Diesel Aura, or something of that nature.

Re: Diesel Camaro!

That would make for a remarkable autoX car. Slap 'er in second gear and go.

You'd have to see how heavy that diesel engine really is, since they are usually a bit heavier than gasoline ones.

If it was RELIABLE I think it would be great. Usually diesels are built with stronger parts because they have to be. And someone would definetly develop a turbo kit as well for it. Diesels can handle quite a bit of boost.

Re: Diesel Camaro!

Stars, I agree. I started to write blasphemy, but recall the huge power on a chipped Duramax. Hmm....

Re: Diesel Camaro!

Propane injection, anyone?

Add a pair of Mickey Thompson's, the right gearing, and say "hello 11's!! "

(and you'd hardly use ~1/4 tank getting to the track, running, and getting back home again!! )

I would buy one and then get the programmer which would add another 150ft lbs of torque
