OnStar is a deal breaker is a rare caveat, but I do understand why someone would have that as a personal concern. What about disabling it? I honestly wouldn't expect to buy a GM car in the future, I think we may be close or at a time when every GM car will have it.

I would be VERY interested if I could get it without OnStar, only 200lbs heavier than the SS, and cost low to mid 40s.
You get it free for 6 mos. If you don't want it after that, they shut it off. No big deal. My wife has onstar in '00 Suburban & we never used it. I got it in my '11 SS & kept getting wrong number phone calls on the phone, but they have stopped. It shouldn't be a deal breaker for anyone.

It's not a deal breaker for me, if it was an option I'd just opt out. No big deal for me.

Some people have tight personal privacy policies and don't like the idea, even when OnStar is disabled.

Yea, I realize I am likely in the minority.

It's a privacy and security concern. While the "feds" would never care what I was talking about (or where I am) an eavesdropping competitor could very well unsettle my research. There is also the [albeit unlikely] scenario of "hackers" tampering with the physical characteristics of the car.
Here are some of its capabilities: http://www.onstar.com/web/portal/systemdetails

Maybe some day in the future when they become affordable on the used car market and it fits my needs. It's not worth owing money for a couple years over.

Definitely has my interest, but I am still considering a used C6 Z06. If the Camaro comes in sub 50K that would really help persuade me. It, so far, has really exceed my expectations.

I also need to build an additional garage to store my current Camaro because it is not for sale, and I am not parking any of my vehicles outside.

Re: Do you plan to buy a 2012 ZL1?

I just bought my 2SS this past summer, and all indications say that it's holding its value. If the Canadian pricing isn't so out to lunch and I get close to what I paid for my SS, I'd be interested... However payments are another story... Right now, I'm paying 641/mo with the extended bumper to bumper warranty.

Nope, still paying off my Z28, and will be for the next 3 years. Unless I have a dramatic change in pay grade over the next year, I simply wouldn't be able to afford it, not to mention I'm currently in love with my Z and don't want another car right now(save for a new daily driver).

All I want is a V6 base for crying out loud! I have never even had a Camaro let alone the most badass Camaro ever!

300 horses and a manual trans is all I want, that is plenty for me. For daily driving purposes, a 5th gen suits me perfectly. If I was a track racer, which I could never afford to be, then I would buy it hands down.

Love it. Would like to buy it. The finance gods would have to smile on me a bit more earnestly than they do right now though.

I guess if I wanted an $800 dollar a month payment I'd get one.
I don't want an $800 dollar a month payment.

Re: Do you plan to buy a 2012 ZL1?

Well....... the ZL1 will become rare as market migrates to small displacement, high spin dual Turbo v6's, direct injection etc etc etc.

Z28 is king of recognition moniker, but ZL1 simply was the COPO King Kong collector version.
