Well, I offically (and finally) had my dream of driving the 2010 Camaro come true on Saturday! It was a red 2SS 6spd! The plan was to go for a ride and get some video footage with my new camera mounts.

Well, we probably drove around for about 45 minutes or so. We went all over! The car rides very smooth, comfortable, and very easy to talk to one another inside. I was most impressed with the on-ramp that we took at about 60 mph and yes I will vouch for the 0.8??g rating that the car is rated at! It got to the point where we needed to stop and get gas. When we stopped, as the car was getting refueled, I was changing my cameras around. The gentalmen I was with went to pay for the gas and when he returned he asked me two questions. ONE, can I see your drivers license? I answered, OF COURSE YOU CAN. Two, can you behave yourself? That question was a little harder to answer, but of course I said yes. After that, he handed my the keys! At that moment it was kind of like in the movies when something is placed in your hand and a little spot light from above shines right down on the object, kind of like it was a gift from above.

The car drives great. The 6spd is forgiving for an average manual driver who rarely drives one. It's really hard to put into words what it was like, because it just seemed like a dream! I did get that feeling that all eyes were upon me when I was stopped at the intersection! The funny thing was we saw four other 2010 Camaros well we were out! The only bad thing is the fact that the camera I had pointed at me to record as I was driving did not work. I thought the record button got hit, but I must not have pushed it hard enough though. But!!!! I DO have a picture!!!!!!!!

I would really like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the individual that made this happen!!! It will be a story that I will be telling my kids and then grand kids in the future about the time dad/grandpa got to drive the 2010 Camaro when it first came out!!!!

I really really can't wait to get behind the wheel of a new Camaro again!!!!! Hopefully it will have my name on the title!!!

I'm going to try and get the video edited as soon as I can to post up, but with work and another video project that has to be done before the weekend, it might take me week or so...

 

I think it was a 2SS. That's a leather seat your in.

 

oops, don't know how or why I made that mistake. I fixed that though.

LOL, no, picture just got taken at a bad time. Was at the point where I could have stalled the car, just because I was trying to be a little light in the throttle so not to spin the tires. I didn't want to misbehave and cut my drive short! There will be a time and a place to see what she can do, and at that point in the middle of a downtown area was not it.
