i highly recommend a driving class like this for everyone. i did a 3 day class at Mid Ohio last year. learned alot and im still learning. really lets you pus the car in the right way. which reminds me i need to sign up for my SCCA lisensing.

 

Someday I will definitely do something like this.

This is probably the reason why:

While it may be a good deal as far as driving schools go, I don't know anybody that can or would be willing to drop that kind of coin to drive a car for a few hours over 1 weekend.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to do a driving school. I just can't justify spending that kind of money when there's more important things in life. Like buying a house or putting away for retirement or replacing a roof or furnace, etc.
It's DEFINITELY a luxury to be able to do that.

If they ever found out how fun it is to push this car into and accelerate out of corners.... they would be hooked just like we are

I was the same way on my bike.... I loved to go straight and fast.... Then I hooked up with some guys from southern Ohio that showed me what cornering was all about.

 

im trying to get some more guys to come to the track day. once they try it theyll be hooked.

 

I think this is fantastic news. I was wondering when Spring mountain and Bondurant would offer Camaro driving schools like they used to. I am going to start looking into attending one of these immediately.

detltu, If you haven't had your camaro on a road course or auto-x course yet, you will be amazed a how well the OEM car feels. I know I was. All I did was pedders lowering springs....this car is awesome.

Well I have auto-x'ed all of my Camaros, but I haven't bought a 5th gen yet so I am excited to get behind the wheel and really excercise a new SS. I have been saying I wanted to go to a driving school for a long time, and I was pretty upset that I missed out on the SS classes at Spring Mountain (Bragg-Smith). The rev it up series was fun as well. I never heard the story on why that ended.

Hopefully attending a driving school will help tide me over until I get my ZL1.

 

when i did my driving school at mid-ohio, it was in Acura TSX's and it was still amazingly fun. they were equipped with parts out of the Honda performance catalog, like sway bars, coilovers Kumho Tires, and it had a roll cage and 5 point harness, but i was very impressed on how well it handled. really made the experience fun. debating whether or not to use my car for the next Lapping day or use their car.
