Edmunds.com already has Z28 in their system

So i saw this from another web site and decided to check it out on edmunds.com and its true. they have the Z28 in their system already.http://www.edmunds.com/new/2012/chev...73/prices.html priced around 50k. is this normal for them to do or do they know something about it already that no one else does?

They don't have any information that the rest of us don't have as well. I'd love to know why they think it's a good idea to do that (this isn't the first time they've added a car before it came out).

That's been there for a while. Note the image:

"Expectations". In other words... "We took a guess."

Their guess is as good as anyone else's, and probably not as good as ours right here on this site. In fact, I am confident that Chevrolet themselves do not know exactly what a Z28 would cost if they were to build one. That is often one of the last things determined when producing a new car line because it can change daily (or even hourly) as production time draws near. The closer production time gets, the more defined the MSRP becomes.

So, sorry...but nothing to get excited over just yet.

Pure speculation, and possibly a little false hype.

It's a good way to increase traffic to Edmunds.com.

If the $50K is actually true or close to being true, GM is definitely going to price this car way too high! I would actually purchase a C7 instead, which is rumored to be out in '12 as a '13 model, for most likely in the low $50K range for a base car.

You are basing one rumor on another.

Not to mention, you are comparing a top of the line Camaro to a bottom of the line Corvette.

(Doesn't "bottom of the line Corvette" sound weird?)

Didn't edmunds.com also originally list the 5th gen Camaro as a 2009 model?

But it wasn't a "2009 Camaro" as they stated it was.

The base Corvette is already about that... $48,950 for a 1LT Coupe, $49,900 with destination. I don't see how that is somehow like paying $40,000 for a base Camaro. Unless drugs are involved.
