What they may draw is that baby boomer who switched to imports but has fond memories for the original pony cars, which they grew up with. I just wish everyone would wait to see it in person before coming to conclusions. The video may not even be acurate as far as the production model goes. Since production is a few years off, if a retro interior is not wanted, now is the time for the public to speak up about it. A lot of people have personal preferences are are always going to hate anything from the "other" guys, so take everything with a grain of salt. Don't get upset if clubsi hates a Camaro, as I'm sure there aren't too many handa fans here!
It is true that most ricers won't like it no matter what it is or looks like, but I am not refering to ricers. What the Camaro needs to do is to steal and lure buyers away from cars like the 350Z, RX-8, G35, and to a lesser extent the EVO and STI. These are the vehicles in the Camaro's price range and these are the vehicles that are not in the retro muscle car class and these are the vehicles that the Camaro needs to steal sales from. I can't imagine that these will be enough buyers to go around for the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro. Just appealing to the same core croud will not get the job done, this has been stated many times and that is why the 4th gen failed. It only appealed to hard core enthusiasts and there are not as many as GM needs to sustain the car. GM is the one who wants a more broad audience for the Camaro but in my opinion, they are not going to accomplish that. How is a retro Camaro going to attract anyone who doesn't already like Camaro's? I just don't see it.

This is potentially the problem. This same group of people will be fighting for the same sales and it will be spead through 3 vehicles................with the Camaro comming out LAST. The Mustang will lose sales but not too much because people will buy Mustangs no matter what is done to the car. I would like to know what the Camaro sales forecast is because that will be the real indicator of how they expect the car to do and maybe give a hint to the level at which the car will still be profitable. I wonder if GM is predicting sustained sales of over 100k a year like with all the previous gens or are they content with a lower production model?

There very well may be changes to either before they see production...

I want to see under the hood and an interior before I make judgement. I like bits, I hate others. But again, this is just a Concept Car. I'll hold any final judgement till I sit in one on a dealership lot.
Sure it might be a concept but that doesn't stop it from looking like garbage. Somehow it just doesn't look like a performance car.

If this is what they're going to put out as a 'potential' new Camaro they should at least make it look like it won't be a gigantic boat around the corners. Maybe the actual performance will be different than the looks.

/\me too!

And just IMO.... It looks like a futuristic Camaro to me.

Ford made a '67 Mustang again basically and aparently Dodge chiseled an old clay Challenger but this Camaro really has some forward looking lines! Sweet!

Er, not sure if you're kidding, drunk, or the guy who drew the pic. The real thing beats that ugly concept by miles. GM has done an excellent job. Now they have to build a solid, reliable fast car at an affordable price.

Then I want to see a Firebird.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

The GM concept is far better than the concept pictured above.

This Camaro concept posseses one of the main features that I always hated about Mustangs and that is that it looks like it is based off a sedan. Take any Mustang and you could add two more doors and it would not look weird or wrong. The same can now be said for the Camaro. It has proportions that are not far off from a sedan.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

First of all, haven't all Camaros had a somewhat "pointy" front end? It is one of Camaro's traits....maybe a softening of that point would be good, I'm not too sure yet.

Again, what is with all the "boat" comments? Dimensionally, the car is shorter than the Mustang and over a FOOT shorter than the Challenger concept, speaking of "boats". I'm excited to get initial impressions from those lucky bastages that are going to the unveil. Then, I'll see for myself as early as next weekend.
