Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

I just saw that video and a couple things I noted:

1. It looks like that nasty retro interior is what we will see.
2. The only view I like is the high rear 3/4 view
3. They are trying to say that they used classic Camaro design cues that don't make the car retro. Whatever.

Dissapointed.

On a side note, I showed this to my father and his exact words were "I don't like it, it looks really heavy and bulky like a Chrysler"

Wow, the car looks so amazing. This will be the star of the auto show for sure. It's even 2 inches shorter than the Mustang but with 3 extra inches in the wheelbase!

OMG , after seeing all the angles in the video ......this car is pure SEX . Now I hope they dont change a thing . Next to this work of art , the challenger and mustang look nearly invisible as far Im concerned . Cant f'in wait .

That video WAS meant to be shown after . The narrative is worded like the car has already been seen in detroit .

I was never a fan of the concept pics. After seeing the 360-rotation on this car, I'm SOLD. This will be THE CAR TO OWN! This will be.. MY CAR!!

I think one must see it in person to decide how "big and bulky" it looks. Quite honestly, it looks about right proportionally, and if the video is correct this car just about spot-on nailed modern pony car proportions. 185 or 186 inches is about what I hoped/expected.

As far as the styling, my initial reaction from the pictures is that, visually, it's a lot more interesting than the Mustang. There are a lot of intricate creases in the rear quarters, especially where the quarters meet the doors. The car obviously has a lot of retro cues, but I can honestly say it still looks modern overall.

Things I don't like:

1. Scott, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let the retro interior make production. I hate the new Mustang's interior. It isn't particularly ergonomic, or user-friendly, the guages are hard to read...in fact they flat out stink when trying to take quick glances at them. I want a modern cockpit.

2. Perhaps just a bit too much Cadillac styling influence. I like angles, but I would love to see more dramatically swept/raked front fenders. Something that curves down from the windsheild to the front fascia instead of the blunt flat crease.

3. Taillights need work! They're basically touch-ups from the stolen silver foam concept. Although I do like the C6-style "afterburner" look when the lights come on.

I think that's about it. Overall, I like it a lot. Nice stance, nice sized wheels, cowl induction hood that I hope makes production on some particular top model. Love the rear quarters and low roofline. Overall, nice job guys.

EDIT: Just watched the R&T video again...I must say...it looks better every time. Can't wait to see it before my eyes!

This thing is awesome! After seeing that 360 view.. it sold me too. I'd like to see someone standing next to it too, just for proportions.

I sure hope there is a Chevy Dealer near Holloman AFB.... cause I'll be waiting at the door the day they arrive!

WOW!

I don't think it's very retro at all...I mean there are retroish styling cues but this really doesn't look like an old car or anything like the Challenger and the Mustang to less of an extent. This thing is gorgeous!

What I don't like is that it looks like it won't have T-tops I liked the direction they were headed with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gens where it had the single pillar over the rear seats. It also would have been cool if they could have extended the rear hump line into the door a little like the Corvette.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

Needs a higher greenhouse. Looks to low and squished.

I also dont like the grill. It looks to short compared to rest of the car and I'm not a fan of the 69'ish style with the outisde of the grill sweeping in real far into the interior of the vehicle.

Thought I would throw that out there. I figure instead of doing what bashers would do, I thought I'd throw out my actual thoughts on what I dislike about it. However I need to see other angles of the car to form a conclusive judgement
