Ok after seeing the video that I missed on the first page of this thread. The greenhouse is fine. However I still dont like the grill on the car and I hope this is something that changes because Im catching a lot of flak from non GM friends of mine who say they hate it

I also dont like the grill. It looks to short compared to rest of the car and I'm not a fan of the 69'ish style with the outisde of the grill sweeping in real far into the interior of the vehicle.

Thought I would throw that out there. I figure instead of doing what bashers would do, I thought I'd throw out my actual thoughts on what I dislike about it. However I need to see other angles of the car to form a conclusive judgement
I agree it does look kinda squished, but I like it. It looks more low-slung a la 4th gen. A taller greenhouse would ruin the sleek-ness of it.

I will reserve some of my judgement for when I actualy see it in person, but it does have a really bulky look to it in the video. I am not particularily found of that.

I do like the back alot though.

If that is the real deal then i like it. I'm still a harsh retro critic but there is alot of that vehicle that is just pure sex. Much better looking than the stang or challenger.

Spoiler, the lines, the nose. Great freakin job GM

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

I have to admit I like it. I wasn't too crazy about it taking styling cues from the '69 at first but it looks like GM did a fine job ... from what can be gathered so far.

I'm real interested in seeing how the interior works out in the end. It sure as hell doesn't look like it will be much more comfortable than any of the previous Camaros and from the looks of things, it's going to be another back breaker crawling in and out of the back seat. I also wonder about the amount of trunk space. I'm not a big fan of shopping, nor have I ever been one to pack everything that we own when we go on trips but we all know what sex does, lol ... that in itself might hurt sales to some extent.

All in all, when the time comes I'll probably be there waiting in line to get in one myself. The few things that I don't like about the car's appearance could be changed easily and it sounds like the performance is going to be there as well.

I WILL have to build a bigger garage. Why does 2009 have to be so far away.
Scott: put me down for a all black one and if available make it a ragtop.

Huh?

The video states a 9 inch INCREASE to the wheelbase with an approximate equal reduction in overall length.

In other words they lopped off a bunch of the useless length and moved the wheels out to each end thereby really tightening up the overhangs.

Styling aside, a longer wheelbase will usually do good things for handling (decreased polar moments). Our engineer type members can elaborate much more eloquently than I could.

According to the video it's a 110" wheelbase, 9 inches longer than the 3rd/4th Gen. Backseat duty probably won't be a picnic (has it ever been in a Camaro?), but it isn't in the Mustang either...and that car is bigger on the outside. You have to keep in mind that this is a pony car, not a sedan.

I also love it. The interior could use a little massaging but overall it's a bases loaded home run.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

that car is amazing!!! They basically did the same thing as ford with the mustang but the camaro started out looking much more amazing in the 60's and it appears that the new one will continue this tradition
