Firebird kit for the Camaro CONFIRMED!
For those of us F-body guys that drive "the other F-Body", this is pretty exciting news. In a fun spirit similar to trash talking about a sibling, I have often said I would never buy a Camaro because I am a Firebird guy. Looks like I may have to change my tune.

This would definitely interest me in buying a new camaro now,.....just to convert it. You would think GM would have seen the opportunity for this vehicle to keep it in production,......even if the submarine the rest of pontiac. Theres alot of dedicated TA enthusiasts like myslelf, that wouldn't buy a camaro, but if it had a TA body kit, they likely would. I was wondering who and when it would happen.

I gotta believe that the "Pontiac" name can't be anywhere on the car. Nor could the name "Trans Am" or the Pontiac arrowhead. I would think that there might be a problem using "T/A" as well, as Pontiac used it in the late '70s and Mopar used it in the early '70s.
I wonder what these kits will look like. Will they be high quality stuff so that the car looks factory or will they be cheesy, like so many of the aftermarket body kits?
And which design are they going to do?
And how much?
And why no Honeycomb or Rally II wheels?
I guess we'll have to wait until the Trans Am nats.

as much as i loved my 99 trans am, i have to give this one to the camaro. that trans am doesnt looks nearly as good as the camaro. its not done right. just looks like their meshing 2 styles together. a little bit of late 60's with late 70's. sorry, i dont like it.

Could GM have some sort of secondary licensing agreement for the name?
So far, the company hasn't really referred to it as the Trans Am. I think they're calling it the "Phoenix T/A"

This is a no-brainer, I am surprised that GM didnt offer it from their resources.
The Firebird has always been a Camaro in disguise, why not go this route? It
has been all over the media, peoples guesses as to what the Firebird will look
like. I would think that some large aftermarket company like Saleen or other
would do this. No matter what its got to be better then the Chevelle that had
been made from the '04-06 GTO.
