After seeing pics of the genesis coupe concept, it won't be a threat. It has the dimensions of a FWD coupe. That long front overhang and the short distance between the front of the door and the wheel well does not say performance. Also, it has been said that the coupe concept is near production ready and the 8 does not fit in the concept.

When it comes out the 6 will have 300hp and so will the Camaro V6, and the Mustang if it gets the 3.5L with DI could as well.

If the concept is true in even the dimensions, we don't have much to worry about.

For the mustang, if it is going smaller with IRS, I see that as a sign for either A, moving down in size to make room for a slightly larger 2-door coupe muscle car making the Mustang a more sporty car, or 3, they are trying to just make it perform better at all cost. However I think option 1 sounds the most likely.

As far as mentions about the new Malibu, I like it. sure it's no muscle car but it is in the bread and butter section of the automotive industry for cars. And I'd buy one any day over a camry or a accord. Now, fit it with awd a 5 or 6 speed manual and that 306 hp VVT 3.6L, throw a sport tuned suspension and wheels on it for good measure and call it an SS, and then we'd have something to write home about. How about a car as practical as a Camry with the performance of a Evo? Sounds good to me, but I'm slightly deranged.

I'm hoping for pretty high volume. If this one gets killed in sales, it'll be bad news for the future of the mark.
