I am very disappointed after watching the video. It looks like those of us who oredered SS models may have a long wait. With GM guaranteeing each dealer at least two V6 models for them to sell within the first months that is going to push capacity for the SS back. If I have to wait then I have to wait. I hope Chevrolet/GM goes through the current orders and gives us a realistic (though estimated) delivery timeframe. Our dealers have our deposits interest free. At least give us the better (more accurate) information and expectation times.

You guys are reading this wrong abouth the SS. Here are the facts:

GM's total allocation is over 20K GM was expecting a 50/50 split of V-6/V-8 cars

Total SS pre-orders: 8800

V-6 pre-orders: 1200+

They are still under their SS allocation by 1200 cars.

No reason for SS owners to panic yet.

I think a lot of what we're seeing is that it finally hit people like a brick that not every car is going to be built by April. A lot of people had a totally unreal expectation of when they were going to get their car.

TRUE HP #'s

Convertible as a 2011 model

Factory may apply more stripes in near future

ALL OFFERED DISCOUNTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM DAY 1

Door Sill plates STANDARD on V8's, and available for V6's

SS demand not a big concern, it may or may NOT be a cause for a constraint

Brake calipers are BLACK with CHEVROLET in WHITE, and BREMBO in RED

HERITAGE GRILLE has a bowtie gold badge

1 month delay not a result of Cadence supplier issues - secondary suplliers already up to speed

Rear gears: 327 in V6, and 345 in V8's

Perelli snows recommended for 20" with factory perf tires if in a snowy area
Does this discount statement mean GM incentives, I am assuming? I guess the wait might be a good thing then. I just received a current owner incentive up to $3000 on GM cars/trucks that expires 2/2/09. I would assume the Camaro would fall into the $1000 category, assuming that they still have incentives...which I am about 99.99% sure that they will at that time, since it is end of year for '09s.

I am also #1 at my dealer as well. I should be OK as well, since my dealer is pretty large, selling quite a few Chevy's/Cadillacs/Buicks/Pontiacs/GMC's!

No. It only means GMS/GMU is what's being assumed. However, that still doesn't mean the dealer has to give it to you. First it has to be offered by GM then the dealer has the option of extending it to you. Their choice.

I wouldn't be suprised to see the Camaro is the loyalty/current owner incentives come launch time...we shall see though.

I'd love to see it but they're talking about all the pre-orders not being filled until October. That kind of indicates to me there will be no "specials" until at least that time. JMO.

Its more than that once they ramp up to full capacity. No one should be worried IF they'll get their car. When is the only issue.

And in these ecomomic times the smart thing would be not to offer it.
Of course they are gonna offer it. They would be utter fools not too.

I was going 2 order end of oct.( my favorite month ) but my son wanted me 2 wait. Well, i finally ordered in nov. He kept telling me it would be delayed. Take my time and decide. Give it til '09. He new about this( the car ) way before i did and with the movie i was hooked. I was so thankful for this thread. I would read and learn all about this new car. I would call my dealer and he wouldn't even know about the camaro and i would tell him about the thread and what i found. I helped him learn information he wasn't aware of. Thanx for giving me the inside scoop. Does all this mean we won't get the car we pre-ordered til summer '09 or as late as oct. '09??

Here's the million dollar question.
Would you rather this car be delayed because a quality issue arose or because a supplier was late?

Just my opinion...Depends on where you are in your dealers allocation. Are you #1 of 20 (or whatever) or are you #18 of 20? If you're #18 of 20, you're probably waiting until October. #1 of 20, maybe July. BUT, if you're #1 of only 4, you're probably into September...

It was said that all pre-orders were expected to be filled by the end of October. ** that assumes a dealer didn't accept a pre-order for more than they were allotted. You DO NOT want to be #15 of 12...

Also, it has been stated that each dealer is going to be given at least 2 allocations in the first 6 months I believe. One of those minimum of 2 will be an order and the other is a V6 for inventory.
