Depends on why the supplier is late.

I wonder if when they say that they will be able to build all the sold orders before the end of the MY that they aren't referring to the end of the 09' production which usually ends at the end of June when GM typically takes its 2 week shut down period. I can't see GM taking until the late fall to build the 10,000+ sold orders that they have accumulated so far. They would never be able to hit the 100,000 that they want to build a year at that pace and I understand about the ramp up period.

Remember they have extra months being we're just starting 09. They have from March 16,2009 until around October 2010. Then 2011's - new model year- will begin to roll out. That's 19 months of production for MY 2010. Hitting 80-100k in 19 months ? They should be able to do that running the line backwards.

I agree, I find it hard that it will take that long for them to build 10K or so cars, even though the Camaro is a whole new car/model. I would think that all of those 10K orders should be completed within 2 or 3 months after production begins, which should be around May/June 09.

They said their estimate was that they would complete all the sold orders by October 09, not end of MY.
