Gm 2009 Camaro Rim Order

Have a buddy thats pretty high up for ALCOA wheel manufacturing, they do GM wheels and while the plant here does Cobalt wheels etc he told me the the clevelend branch is setting up for an order of 450,000 camaro rims. Didnt know what they were to look like but it was mentioned in a meeting. just a cool little tidbit i thought!

I'd guess 100,000 and the rest are for spares, and replacement inventory.

Its not an order really, more like the contract is setup to produce the wheels. The contracts for these and all the other components that suppliers supply need to be setup around now so that they all have time to develop and prepare to produce in those quantities.

Also, these are just the wheels. They don't need the actual production wheels to do their testing. Or if they do want production wheels, it isn't that hard to produce a few sets.

They will however be doing their testing in a secret underground lab... a secret down-under lab that is...

Staggered sizes would be nice....but I guess you mean base wheels vs. optional wheel sizes.

I'm waiting for the car show in Indy later this month. Hope they bring something better/more production like.
