Exclamation Re: GM announcement today!

I was wondering this for some time.

"The company also disclosed three improvement projects that have already been started but weren't announced earlier."

Hmm

Hopefully they are getting it together and making good choices for the future.
We don't have anyway to know that but I am sure some of the lower level employees that see the stupid things most mangers don't could tell you if they are doing better or worse.

The fact that there are no brand or division managers (ie: Chevy general manager, or a g.m. of a particular car line or product development person) tells you this is a manufacturing announcement, not one of any particular car.

Re: GM announcement today!

The company is investing $152 million in its Ypsilanti transmission plant to increase production capacity for its rear-wheel-drive, six-speed transmissions, Flores said. It is investing $60 million in its Romulus engine plant for making the small-block V8 engines that will go into its new full-size trucks. It is also spending $32 million to update the hydroforming equipment in its Pontiac metal stamping plant, which uses water to help make the unique curves on the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters.
I like the fact that they're adding capacity for RWD 6-speeds...
