And the Europeans (or at least some British magazines, who normally bash any American cars) seem to like it for what it is. A great muscle car, not a sports car wanna be. They don't even put down the new Vette too badly, even after GM claiming it to be a Porsche beater.

If it makes money for GM what's the problem? I don't get it. I know there are folks in the UK who would love to get their hands on this car. Not everyone there likes driving a 1.2 litre FWD fartbox.

They don't sell the Mustang officially in Germany. But a lot of dealers import the Mustang and want a hell of money for the car, because it's so rare.
I big issue in Germany is the size of the car, the milage and the displacement. Most Germans love small cars with high milage.
They sold the 4th gen Camaro from about 1998 till 2001 in Germany but they haven't sold enough. The have tried to sell the f-body in Germany several times. In the 70s it was just the Camaro, in the 80s just the Firebird und in the late 90s again just the Camaro. But it was never a success!
Try to find a parking spot for a Camaro in a German city and you know why :-)
The car tax depends on the displacement. So you pay a lot of car tax for a big V8 engine.
But guess what, a love my ls1 and I would buy a 5th gen Camaro in Germany.
If GM doesn't import the car to Germany, i will for sure :-)
