I don't think the Z28 buzz was really ever off.....

My guess is the disciples will be seeing the 'vert for comments before it starts production in February. But I think they will also see a bit more

I asked yesterday and all I got were smiles and a sort of "we're not 100% sure yet" type of vague response.

Well it is a long ways off, so maybe they're not sure what will actually be ready in time.

Oh, I know. It was just a moment of wishful thinking.

Though I can't imagine the actual hard parts of the LS7 cost more than an LSA with its blower, intercooler, etc.

Good things come to those who DONT wait...The lines are running in Oshawa boys and girls and building some fine LS3 V8 beauties every day....Most people wont buy a Z28 because it will be cost prohibitive for first year....so....if the car does not come out till next summer/Fall if not later and the silly dealers play their markup game for a year or more....You are looking at 2 + years ....You gonna keep waiting and drooling or just go down to your GM store and buy a new SS....For most of us the SS is sooo powerful and beautifully built that it's all I will need for awhile...Sure the Z28 is cool....and right now it's a dream at retail of over 50K US and 60K canadian for when ?? 2 years from now when you could actrually get one for a retail level dollar and not a stupidly raised "its the only one comming this summer" price....
Dont know about you guys but I could be dead in 2 years so I have Vin #6046 NOW in the garage....What are YOU waiting for??

I had a Camaro LT for a rental car a couple of weeks ago (keep meaning to post a review of it on here). After driving it, an SS is all the more tempting. However, I want my next car to be a convertible, and I really wish GM had released them both at the same time.

I'm glad you are enjoying your car. The SS must rock, because even a 1LT was a pretty sweet ride in most respects.

I'd be curious to find out. LS7's dry sump, titanium rods and valves, forged pistons, surely add up. I'm guessing you're right that the LSA is more expensive, but I'd wager it's not by much.

Through GMSPO the LSA is about 500.00 more than the LS7.

I want LS7 and think it fits the Z/28 formula better than the LSA or new Z28 formula that is essentually a Camaro version of the GT500. Chevy is certainly paying attention to the HP game that Ford has dived into with the 2011 engine linup and thus raised the 3Camaro V6 output above the Mustang V6's. For markting alone, 556 HP says a lot more for the Z28 against the GT500 than 505 HP does.

yeah but that 505 is more than enough to take on the gt500. if the ls3 is doing a good job of keeping up with it in the camaro, the ls7 would definately put the hurtin on it.

Not everyone is swimming in so much money that they can afford to buy a new car every two years.
