Taking a queue from another thread. Please emphasize that the V6 needs to have a manual tranny option. If a car is supposed to be fun to drive, then it needs to cater to the driving enthusiast and that often means giving the driver full control of the shift and the way it's engaged (ie the clutch), paddles are neat, but they are not a real substitute for stick shift.

excellent job with the car so far. I know its going to be great. If you guys can, try having the best quality. When i purchase a new car, I don't like things looking cheap in the interior and I hate those damn rattlings from cupholders and cubbys. All I want hear in the car is the sound coming out of the exhaust.

1. Reverse Light incorporated into outter ring of red outside taillights
2. Reverse Light incorporated into inner taillights
3. Reverse Light incorporated into rear top trunk lid area
4. Reverse Light incorporated into bottom half of all 4 taillights
5. Reverse Light incorporated into license bracket area
6. Reverse Light incorporated into license bracket area 2

Could we get a hint on what will be the emblem for the front/rear i.e. a Camaro emblem, Chevy symbol?

More details on interior features like the paddle shifters, Navigation possibility and the led lighting inside.

Also how about a few pictures of the camaro chosen few standing or sitting in it.

Last how about a few pictures of the new Camaro next to a new Mustang
and a person standing next to both.

September is going to be an awesome month!
how about the same area as the vette?

I like numbers 5 and 6 of your suggestions and the Corvette taillight suggestion. None of those will ever happen though because where they are now is about where the 1st Gen RS's had theirs.

1st gen. RS had them in the panel below the rear bumper, down pretty low.

Base Camaro V6 starting at about $19,000
RS Camaro with V6 300+hp starting at about $22,000
Z28 Camaro with V8 400+hp starting at about $27,000
SS Camaro with V8 435+hpstarting at about 30,000

and of course options can be added to each to make it your own.
Pricing will be key with this vehicle(remember it's roots)
If it gets too high, your gonna have a flop on your hands.

If you look at the back of the 5th it's basically the same place, as there is an exhaust cut out panel below where there is no more painted body to put them.

My concern is as follows.

The quarter panel sticks out in a big way on this car. It looks great and I was thrilled to see it carrried over from the show car.

Here is where the problem or potential problem lies.

Stone Chips on the leading side of the quarter panel!!!

Has or will the Camaro team look to prevent stone damage on the quarter panels. The combination of flaired quarters and big tires can do a lot of damage here in the snow belt.

The HHR with out running boards and the 04-08 Graqnd Prix are two vehicles today that I know take a lot of damage to the quater paint because they have flaired quarters that stick out from the body.

The SSR may too but few see winter duty.

I know even my truck gets blasted on the front of the rear wheel well flair and each spring need a touch up of paint. GM even address the lower front edge of the bed with a clear plastic protection cover to keep the paint from gettin damaged.

Can the team be aware and make sure something is done so the paint damage can be reduced from rock thrown up by the large front tires.

in the latest camaro performers they have a solution to that problem, but it is aftermarket and will not happen from factory.its basically a film that a body shop puts on,and its better than the previous ones.it does not yellow over time and it does not have the "orange peel" effect.it might be costly ,but in the long rub may be worth it

+1 for integrated backuplights around outer rings. Id MUCH rather have that than the Chrome on the concept or plastic on the pre pro. I like that alot if possible

I know of this product and also they now even have spray on bra's now but this is something they need to address.

Body damage not only make the car look bad but also can promote rust through before warranty timnes are up. If they want people to feel this is a car of quality it needs to address long term ideas to areas of damage. GM has done this in the past on wheel well lips and stong gard on the lower sheet metal. A small body color plast stick on gard as GM has used in the past could address this.

It is not a matter of can but if they will.

I didn't read through the whole thread, so i'm not sure if it was mentioned already.

What's it like driving at highway speeds with the windows rolled down and the sunroof open?

On a lot of new cars, you can't drive like this, since the wind buffets you so much. Your hair is a mess afterward! On my Chevelle, it provides a nice breeze, so it is nice to drive with the windows down. My 04 GTO isn't too bad, but not as good as the Chevelle and other older cars I've ridden in.

Another request for a rear strong enough for drag radials/no wheel hop. (or at least wheel hop that is cheaply fixed with aftermarket parts)
