Hello, don't post here much, but I am the treasurer and member of the CICC...
Here is some info you guys might like to hear...
General Motors, Chevrolet Division and the Central Indiana Camaro Club would like to announce an exciting new development in the Camaro world. We have now been authorized to release information that the new production Camaros will be in attendance and unveiled at the Indy 08, Back at the Brickyard Event in September. The car will be unveiled at the event and many different models/engine combos will be available for the general public to review. Expect to see many different color combinations as well.
The 'Back at the Brickyard' Event will be happening in Indianapolis Indiana from September 19-21, 2008 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Hundreds of Camaros, Firebirds, and Pace Car owners will be in attendance to celebrate the unveiling and enjoy this historic event. GM Dignitaries will be in attendance as well to discuss the design, engineering, marketing, and accessories for this new model of Camaro. Vendors will also be on hand displaying their products.

So long as their are no hurricanes threatening the GOMEX or East Coast (job stuff), I'm going to be running a Mach 1 race on Thursday the 20th at Norwalk, OH, then I plan to head over to Indy for this one. Sounds like a whole lotta fun.

Do they not have a online registration for this event? That kind of sucks having to print off a form, write a check, and mail it off, not knowing if it gets there or not........This is 2008 isn't it.

OK I see where some confusion may have come from. In some areas, like this thread title for instance(https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=605696), the word "Official" has been added where is should not have been. If you look at the original info released by our club it only states that it will be unveiled at Indy with "various" different levels/colors etc. There will be others before, private, press, etc. Here's a post Scott made on camaro5 site:

Let me say this:
If you want to see the various "flavors" of Camaro -- and you want to see some of the presentations that the Disciples saw -- and you want a chance to meet some of the people who have worked on this car tirelessly to make it the best Camaro ever -- by far -- and you want to see hundreds upon hundreds of fellow Camaro/Firebird/pace car enthusiasts' cars -- and you want to take a lap on the world famous Indy Motor Speedway --
THEN YOU WANT TO COME TO INDY and I suggest you make arrangements now rather than later........
That said -- plans can change anytime -- and we all know that spy photos are apt to happen -- no matter how hard we try to keep the car under wraps. (I actually had security on-hand last week and baffles made so that cars could be unloaded somewhere without the possibility of prying eyes (or cameras) taking pictures........)
We will show the car to select members of the media sometime this summer -- and we've done this long enough to know that SOMEONE -- somewhere -- will manage to get their paws on a picture or two -- so to say that Indy is the first time you'll ever see a production car -- is simply not a true statement -- because we DON'T know what will happen between now and then.
I know this -- if you don't go to Indy -- I suspect you may be disappointed that you didn't go.

I'll be flying in from Dallas if my schedule allows me to be there. I'll know for a sure a week or so prior to the meet.
I should be able to snag a room at the Holiday Inn as well, that'll be cool.
