I have noted that the RS embles are just like the SS emblems on the Camaro for the Christian Slater movie car. If this is the case there will be no large SS in the grill center or tail panel as the 1969 had.

Also note neither car had anything but Camaro on the front fender.

How many have a problem with this?

It it best they keep the SS understated to make V6 car not look like it is less of a car since they do want to move more V6 cars. [Keep in mind the future of this car rest on V6 sales and sellint this car to more than just gear heads.

Also with most Chevys today should they return the red bowtie to the perfromance cars. the Gold is so generic.

I know both the SS and Bowtie are not nor should they be deal breakers. But how disapointed would you be it it turns out this way.

Chevy monitors the web sites so state your case and please be resonable.

If anything if they emblems are understated it would open a good line for the aftermarket to sell.

 

The SS will have more distinguishing features, other than the badge.

 

if the badges are not how i want them than my camaro will look that much more different from the pack when i put the badges the way i want...

I know for sure i will not be leaving a gold bowtie on the front of my car.

 

i think there should be dealer installed options on different grills and badges.. in addition to the wheels, spoiler, or whatever

i hope that the grill is easily interchangeable.. that would be cool to have a few grill options

if Chevy doesnt do it, i'm sure that this kind of stuff will be available in the aftermarket

 

I think they want people to think "I own a Camaro, and its an SS" as opposed to "I own an SS." To sell more V6 Camaros they need to stop people from the "well its just a plain Camaro, so it sucks" mentality of the last 40 years.
(I hope that makes sense. I am not bashing V6s. But a lot of people think if its not a Z28, SS, Iroc, its not a real Camaro.)

 

Now originally the Camaro was just that a Camaro. There was no SS or Z/28 till later. The later cars became a Z28 first and a Camaro second this is what they wanted to return to.

They want this car to be like the first original concept as a stylish sporty affordable coupe for everyone.

What I am asking is should they have made the SS emblems like the original 69 or if they turn out as the movie car will people in general be ok with that.

My thought is if you pay the extra money most will want it to show it is a special car more prominatly. The SS was never a real flashy car but it was marked so you did not miss it.

I think the Z/28 will not be an issue as with the hints on the new Transformer Bumble bee they have some real changes in store.

 

Emblems are the last thing on my mind with this car . I will most likely remove the one there anyways , I like understated. I guess if I could afford a Z/28 I might be a little more concerned about if the emblem was proper ...possibly .

 

The SS was available in 1967 as a first production model. The Z28 was also available; however the emblems were not put on the Z/28 till late in the production run when it became more popular in 68.

 

The Z/28 actually wasn't available right at launch. The SS was. Camaro production began in August 1966 and Z/28 build didn't start until December.

 

I love the small badges. I think it's really clean and since seeing the concept I wanted the "CAMARO" badge on the side and I think with an SS badge around it would look to cluddered. I'm hoping to upgraded to a pre-pro style 3-bar grill with a couple black/chrome outlined bowties. I think since I want an SS/RS I'll get rid of the SS badges entirely. The red won't go with the color scheme I'm looking for. One thing I wish they did do was put "CAMARO" indented into the rear black diffuser like the GTO. It would be sweet to add some chrome inserts.

 

I don't mind that smaller badges, kind of makes it classier. It's whats under the hood that counts.

 

Totally badgeless would be my choice.

 

I think people will probably notice the "scoop" of the SS before they get close enough to read if it's a "SS" or "RS".

 

Thanks for the feedback as most look like they are ok with the smaller emblem if it is used.

I was expecting more people being upset.

This is good news for Chevy as it looks like they may have made the right choice if that is what they go with.

I already know the V6 buyers will love this choice.
