Help with new Camaro SS purchase plz

Fellas/Ladies,

I have been away from this board since selling my 96SS, so forgive me if this has been asked already.

When are the 2010 camaros arriving at dealers for the general public to purchase?

Benefit to ordering one now?

I just want one...

Please let me know the details.

Thank in advance!

Mike

I got the scoop from a dealer. I had no idea these things were going to be limitted year one. So, lucky me they had someone drop out of an order and I slid in there for an (2)SS order. Crossing fingers all goes well.

Thanks again.

they are not limited, each dealer just has an initial allocation to get things rolling. you can order all you want still it would just be longer before taking delivery. that said you are pretty lucky to find a dealer with an open spot.

Getting one made after the process has had some time to work through sounds like a good idea to me. I'd rather not have one of the first 30k made (unless they are the only ones made).

Well,

I was able to pre-order yesterday.

(2)SS 6 speed
RS packages
Cyber grey w/black racing stripes
Everything but sun roof/inferno package...

Last one the dealer ordered took 8 weeks for delivery. Crossing my fingers I get that lucky.

I'm not worried about being in that mix of the first ~14k - 30k cars, I prefer it.

Thanks again for those who posted and got me rolling! I am "trippin" now, can't wait.

Sounds like you've been had. You really believe everything the dealer tells you?

Sounds good, BUT do you mean the last one the dealer ordered, in 2002?

Cause to my knowledge, pretty much no cars have been delivered yet.

If your in line after the 14k-ish preorders (and however many after that), I'd say its more like 6-8 months.

(nim)rod,

2002? Really...

"pretty much no cars have been delivered yet"
-means some have been delivered?
-means no cars have been delivered?
-or you don't have a clue?

You think that camaro delivery database is gospel or do you have every dealer in the nation reporting to you?

Either way I could care less, I got my pre-order in. If the guy tells me 8-12 weeks and had one delivered in 8, I'll take his word over yours.

Have a nice day Sir/Ma'am.

#1 and #2 where delivered yesterday (link) meaning that its very unlikely that more than a few have been delivered yet. Is it impossible that your dealer has had one delivered? No.. but its FAR from likely.

Grats either way on your purchase, only advise is to remain wary of any dealer that "promises" anything.

He probably meant the last "vehicle" he ordered. That would sound about right under normal (not backlogged) circumstances from order input to delivery.

Nice job, lowering yourself to calling people names with 4-5 posts. Ill spell it out a little more clearly; since you obviously dont like what Im saying.

You said "I was able to pre-order yesterday." And that the "Last one the dealer ordered took 8 weeks for delivery." He could be talking about the last Camaro he ordered that came in that fast (which would have been 2002); cause he hasn't gotten any new ones in yet. I'm sure).

OR hes talking about the last car (of any type) took 8 weeks to come in. Which isn't relavant either, because you have to factor in the fact that this is a new start up production vehicle with about 6 MONTHS of orders that have been taken since last fall. All of which would likely be built BEFORE yours.

And as to pretty much no vehicles have been delivered, I mean NO vehicles have been delivered. Except there have been a COUPLE. Unless your gonna pay 350K to charity for the right to buy one, like here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15689 They dont mean anything either.

Then I guess I cant really say none. BUT the reality is the same. Yes there have in fact been a couple of cars delivered, but they dont exactly count, in the reality of someone ordering a vehicle from a dealer and waiting for it to be built.

So, take the dealers word that it will be there in 8 weeks and have happy dreams about a car that most likely wont be there before late fall.

And if you want to believe a dealer before me (Since Im a nimrod), get him to put it in writing .
