You think that camaro delivery database is gospel or do you have every dealer in the nation reporting to you?

Either way I could care less, I got my pre-order in. If the guy tells me 8-12 weeks and had one delivered in 8, I'll take his word over yours.

Have a nice day Sir/Ma'am.
lol, nice ice breaker. There is no way you will have your car before August at the earliest unless your order is part of the dealer's initial allocation. Also, no, you did not get your "pre-order" in. To be a pre-order it would have to have been submitted prior to the middle of March, which is when production started.

First off,

I am not "new" to the board. I been around since 2000 or so I just couldn't remember my user name, it's been a while.

rod - my apologies on the "name calling" and I appreciate the info.

Here's what the guy said, he had a "pre-order" slot (and I asked twice like it mattered) which could be used since someone else had just backed out. He said they are telling customers delivery is roughly 12 weeks but he has one he already ordered (a 2lt) that is due to be delivered in a week or two a few weeks shy of 12 weeks.

Is this guy full of $hit?

Its possible that you'll get your car inside of 10-12 weeks if your slot was part of your dealer's initial allocation (what you are referring to as a pre-order). However, since you just ordered it, it is not classified as a "pre-order" (as identified by an official code).

No worries.

I would suggest planning on it coming in around fall time; and if its early, BE HAPPY!

Either way, congrats on the purchase.

And yeah, if they are substituting your order for a vehicle they had an initial allocation order for; It'll be here much sooner.

My understanding is that "pre-order" is defined as one of the 5 -7 pre-order slots given to each dealer. This is one of those slots.

Rod - Once again I apologize man, I just felt like I was being treating like some 17 year old with money who just ordered a car thinking he was better than everyone else. Not the case...

This will be camaro #5 for me

Again thanks for all the inputs and insight. There is a wealth of knowledge on this board, hence the reason I'm on here.

Take care.

ForYourMalice,

Just FYI - My car has been delivered, just outside of 8 weeks as I stated it would per my dealer. Train delivered it Thursday, should be at the dealer between Mon - Wed. I just felt compelled to tell you your "insight" was garbage. If you weren't such an *** about it I would have refrained from a response. Hopefully no one depends on your knowledge...
