Scott has never let us down before... yet... Cheryl is in charge of the Camaro program. Confusing indeed.

I don't doubt that. The thing is with the convertible due out Summer of 2010, instead of the previously stated December 2009, what date does that mean for Z/28? MY2012? I'm not sure I'm willing to wait another 3-years+.

Any comments from GM on this?

2nd Question. Curb weight. I know you said they have dropped a few pounds from May but it's still high. What reasons did they give as to why this car is the heaviest Camaro ever? The car is full of airbags and I know those are heavy but did they discuss this topic?
1st - Tom Peters said it was one of the hardest things they had to wrestle with. Dont forget, bumpers, reverse lights have specific requirements to meet FMVSS. That's the challenger between the design and engineering teams.

2nd - Zeta is heavy. Airbags are heavy. They did what they could to remove as much weight as possible from the architecture they had to work with. Physics is physics.

If Chevy doesn't make a Camaro to compete with the GT500's I will NOT buy a Camaro. I currently own a new Z06 and two Shelby GT500s (purchased only because there was no Camaro), but I have owned 5 Camaros and would really like to own another, but not if I will to lose to every Snake I see.

I guess there's the possibility that some of the 20% reduction in white collar jobs were related to the Z

sure it wasn't more retro to make it look like the 69RS that also moved the reverse lights down there (didn't look better then either)
Why not put them in the black part, or on either side of the plate, or up were we wanted them? All 3 of those options can't be outlawed?

I'm aware of FMVSS but I just don't get why they could have placed the reverse lights in the lower plastic valance of the C6 and not the Camaro. Tom Peters was on both.

Question 3 is more to do with the interior and the Ignition Video seen today.

Will the Camaro have a HUD option? And can you shed any light on the red LED lit interior accent. Will that be offered?

Seriously guys, of course the Z28 is NOT dead. Think about it. Do you really think they would bring back the Camaro and not have one badged as a Z? Things will settle down
for GM and it will eventually hit the streets. I'll bet my new SS on it.

Looks likes the suits at GM didnt want a SC Z28 Camaro to encroach on ZO6 and ZR1 sales. When you look at the big picture, a $50,000 500hp Camaro would hurt $75,000 ZO6 sales. A lot of us on here love the Camaro, but the Corvette is Chevy's halo car and the Camaro is the bang for the buck volume car for Chevrolet and GM.

didnt get into the specifics of where else was considered, but I do recall clear as day his saying that was a tough one for them.

cant talk about HUD since its not in any of literature I've seen so far.

LED accent lighting will be optional content.
