I get the idea Hot Rod is creating a bit of a fantasy Camaro with this survey.
See, if he had written the way you did I'd totally understand it. HR is a lil late to the party and so on.

But, I still say there's no harm in filling out that survey

Oh I agree.....I just dont think it will go too far.....I'm pretty sure GM's marketing and product teams have already figured out the direction to take Camaro.

While it may seem that I am baised, this is very true. A lot of the things that are in the poll have probably already been set in stone. Approving a car like this isn't done with one board meeting. There is a tremendous amount that needs to go into a business plan that would make even the most experienced business minds curl up into a ball and weep.

There are more eyes on this forum than you all may think! Has been that way for a LONG time.

However, taking the poll doesn't hurt, because that just means more input on things for the years to come.

Re: Hot Rod Magazine's Camaro Survey

I actually think Hot Rod's theoretical performance option levels are appropriate. A Z28 with 350hp puts it squarely with the Challenger R/T and above Mustang. For a couple grand more you can get the SS with 400hp. So far that's right in line with the 4th gens, but with more power in both instances. Then they have a 500 and 600hp option... I'd love to see one or the other, but both seems a bit extreme... then again, any 600hp Camaro would be extreme.

I also like the idea of the RS trim package with hidden headlights. I'll take a 400-500 hp RS/SS in Silver please.

Oh, and please give me a solid axle option since I still don't believe that you can make a good IRS in this price point.

Now where did that t-top option box go?

I think the poll is severely flawed.

WOW THAT IS STUPID.

In theory they are stating the base camaro will be 20,000

So now you add another 20,000 on top of that for a 600 hp Camaro.

Thats 40,000.....I would love it if you found me another 600 hp car for 40k.

OH THATS RIGHT, YOU CANT.

Now i know that they wont build a 600 hp Camaro, But even 40k for 500 hp would be awesome.

I would dish that out with joy, because I dont want a mustang, and i cant afford a Z06.

Neither of those cars will have the same numbers by the time Camaro hits the streets, and they won't be going down.

It's like they told a random staffer with no knowledge or even emotion for the Camaro, to come up with a bunch of random questions, that they can use in a BS poll. Some of those question are so stupid. Like how much would you pay over $20,000 for a 600 hp LS9? $2,000 more? Or the Z/28 (for whatever reason) cannot be combined with their RS pkg, but the SS350 (which comes with a 6.0L standard????), can. Sounds like some Mopar guys got together and did this poll over some beers. It sux IMO.

Really, I expected much better from Hot Rod.

Re: Hot Rod Magazine's Camaro Survey

They should have allowed for comments on the pricing section... seemed pretty arbitrary.

So let's say you're right and they're here. Wouldn't they see this post? And then, oh, ask Hot Rod for the results? Then, they would have the opinion of people on here, plus that of people that aren't on here, that just read the magazine.

Either way, the Camaro's back bitches!

It all depends who is giving the survey. Unfortunately, there's only about one automotive specific print media source that gets anything right, Autoweek.

All the other RAGazines, Hot Rod, Motor Trend, Car and Driver, yada yada yada, don't know squat, and print GARBAGE about future info, especially about Camaro.

No, especially if you signed the petetion here, because you knew for sure they were being printed out by someone at GM.

No, if you wrote GM directly, or responded to one of their GM Fastlane blogs.

Yes, pretty much any other way.

Re: Hot Rod Magazine's Camaro Survey

For whatever it is worth, I did the survey, mostly to see what was on the survey .

I've found Automotive News (a Crain publication) to be quite good, better than Autoweek for accuracy.
