The car has not started rolling down the production line, therefore the order can be changed. The dealer is full of crap.

I am not buying it just yet. I just shot an e-mail to my dealer (Tom Henry) last night telling him to change mine to an A6. I got a reply back saying he will change it today. He will surely let me know if there are any issues and I will report back here.

I was able to change my order on 11/24. My dealer could not change it on the screen, but made a phone call to GM, and changed it via phone....after he hung up, he refreshed my order page, and my order was changed, and he printed it out for me....others have also went about it this way....

Let us know what happens...

So when is the last day our dealers can change it? Mine still can't get the polished rims on the SS/RS package.

Straight from John Fitzpatrick...

There is no specific date for the orders to be uploaded. The date depends on when the dealer receives allocation, and the allocation is spread over many weeks. An order can be changed up until the point the dealer submits the order for production.
What to do if you feel you may change your order...

Since the date is not fixed, here is what you do:
Contact your dealer and say something like, "before you submit my order for production, please call me in case I want to make any final changes.".

my dealer already told me that my order was submitted. ive tried changing things with them and maybe they are just being stubborn or maybe they really cant change things. i dontk now but maybe they should put a news letter out and let the dealers know that changing the orders are possible. especially since it is getting down to the wire. my changes arent anything major like paint or motor, just add ons like the ground effects and interior trim. it can always be added later but i just want it to all come at once.

Okay, here's the latest update from Tom Henry about changing my M6 to an A6...

I just went in the system and when you change the order, at the very end of the process it gives you an error, and reverts back to the original. So GM is not letting us change the orders yet. We would have to call them and walk through by phone or we could probably replace the order completely with a new one which is probably easier. In your case I don't want to do that because it would change your order number.

...

I imagine they don't have all of the software up on 2010 Camaro so the
dealer will have to call the DBC ( dealer business center ) to change it.
From the dealers standpoint this is a pain in the butt because you can eat
your entire lunch while on hold.

thats what i thought. i figured they werent lying to me. they told me the same thing about canceling the order i placed and making a new one but then that pushes me down in the line. and im #1 now. they need to getthis worked out if the orders need to be in by the end of this month. id love to add about 3-4,000 dollars more onto my order , but they might miss out if this isnt going to be fixed.

My dealer says he can't change my order right now either.
I talked to the guy who does all the ordering for the dealership and not just the salesman who doesn't know anything.
His response was that he will be able to change the order right before the car gets built. The ordering process will give him a window to make any changes and he will call me when the opertunity is there.
He ordered a Camaro for his wife also and she wants to make a change.
I only wanted to add the polished wheels to my 2SS/RS so it's just one change. I was going to change the interior color from beige to black but the beige is growing on me.
