Agreed. Clutters up an otherwise clean fascia.

I actually like it both ways (with or without). While I prefer that it is functional, it doesn't bother me that it isn't.

If it's not functional I would probably not get it and get some sort of ZL1 style aftermarket ram air hood like I have now.

Are we 100% sure it is not functional? I am not big on fake scoops, but if it works I think it would be great.

The poll should have been:

1) Keep it if it works. Ditch if it don't.
2) Looks good either way.
3) Ditch it either way.
4) No opinion, I own a Ford.

You might want to keep that to yourself.

Don't want. If it was functional, maybe.

I was about to hit send, then realized someone might interpret it that way, then added "(with or without)".

Don't really understand why so many people are up in arms about the scoop being fake.

My thoughts from a similar thread:

But once I learned on the production it wasn't functional like on the concept......ummm......wasn't quite so sure about it.

Once I thought about it though, wouldn't be the first time V8 F-Bodies had "fake" scoops, or hood vents/inlets. For example: 78-79 Z28, 2nd Gen Formula, Shaker Hoods on most 2nd Gen T/A's, Almost all 3rd Gen IROCS & Z28's, many 3rd Gen T/A's & Formulas......could have forgotten some as well.

What was one complaint of the 4th Gen Camaro? The only way to tell the difference between the V6 & V8 were subtle: Exhaust, 3 "Z28" badges, and on the early Z28's black rearview mirrors and roof/pillar.

I still like it...A LOT. I'd LOVE IT if it was functional, but hey, at least it's on there.

If it actualy worked, then fine leave it. Now that I know it's only for looks, no thanks, I want to be able to order my SS w/out it.

If its non-functional then it would be irrelevant... unless the racers can somehow turn it into an effective cold-air pickup.

I don't really care either way...i think on a black car it won't be a stand out feature anyway. on lighter colors it probably is cleaner w/o it. 4th gen Z's had fake (and completely retarded) little scoops in the hood....

I don't care about the slot either way. I wish they would do something about the grille. The way the parking lights are doesn't help, makes it more narrow looking. I'm juse wondering where the 3 row egg crate grille that was on the prototype is. Maybe they were saving it for the Z28, maybe it's optional, maybe it's for the MCE

I don't mind the aesthetics of it, just it's fauxness.

What I WOULD like to see is the 2 grilles match up a little better.
