How much are you willing to pay?

We've all heard price rumors and speculations but we definitely don't know the actual pricing. On one hand we hear that it's going to compete price for price with the Mustang. On the other hand we hear it's going to be $1000-$2000 more. Ive even heard rumors that we won't be able to get the base model V8 for less than $30,000. So forget the rumors and speculations. I want to know what the faithful Camaro lovers out there are wanting/willing to pay for their beast.

I got the prices from what Edmunds.com says people are paying for their Mustangs. Base price, price with some options, and price for a fully loaded Mustang. They're not completely accurate but they kinda give us a good guesstimate of what we could be paying.

I would not call myself a faithful camaro lover here but I am looking at it being my first new car to replace my TA. I am expecting a price point similar to the G8GT so around 29-30K starting and nicely equipped with a ls3 around 32k. Any more and I think I will have to wait for a used one in a couple years.

Good point. Most people are in such a rush to have it new that they don't stop to think that used ones will be availble in a year or so.

It really depends on what the V8 is.
I have a fantasy I'll be able to order one with an LS9, like the Yenko 427 1st gens. THAT would be worth a few more bucks.

I'm not looking to spend more than about 38K drive out, so I guess we'll just see what happens. As to just having to have it now....I'm in the position for the first time to buy a new car with EXACTLY the options / colors / etc. that I want. It's hard to do that used.

If GM wants to have a prayer that this car will sell it needs to be inline with the comp. The Challenger SE and Mustang V6 come in at under $22,000 and Challenger has IRS and an Auto.

The V-8 Camaro regardless of HP needs to compete as well. Both the Mustang GT and the Challenger R/T come in Below $30,000. Yes I am sure you can option them up and get the price close to $35,000, so that should be the max price for a loaded with all the bells and whistles Camaro with a V-8.

Now the top DOG Camaro should also fall in line with the SRT-8 Challenger and Mustang GT 500. A Mustang GT 500 can be had for under $45,000 and thats a Shelby that will hold a better resale than both the Challenger and the Camaro, so I would hope the Camaro comes in lower than the GT500.
