How will insurance companies rate the 300hp V6 Camaro?
#16
True its not a true comparison to a Stang GT, but the Horsepower ratings are a like. BTW I got an email from my Insurance agent and she said it was going to $700 for six months. Thats a bit to steep, so I'll probably put it under my moms name. Thank goodness for parents huh?
-v6/v8
-age
-cost of vehicle
-m/f
-driving record
-theft rate
-area
-# of drivers
and so on.
The insurance company won't ask you the horsepower, they just plop in make/type etc. It won't be as expensive as insuring a Mustang GT

am i crazy to think $700 for 6 months is not expensive? that's probably about what I pay now for my Z at 25 with a couple tickets and it turns out to be less than my older sister pays for a civic with about the same record...
I was quoted like $3400 a year for my SS at 20 when I bought it so i put it under my parents insurance for about half that.

Insurance is a funny thing. I pay $750/6 months for my 98 Z with t-tops and my wife's Pacifica together. And I have speeding tickets and a totalled vehicle on there. My sister went to get a 2005 V6 stang and they quoted her (at the same agent, better driving record) $780/6 months for just the mustang. She looked at getting a hard top 2003 Mach 1 and they said it would be $1200/6 months. I wonder if we can really compare to the mustang...
Any Rustang owners on here that can give a good comparison?
