And if somebody can set me straight what were the LT-1 cars running on average in the 1/4? I know from experinece 99+ M5 mustangs can run 14 to 14.5 in the 1/4 with a few well driven examples cracking the 13s (best stock time I've ever heard on a bone stock 99+ stang was 13.6)

Bone stock M6 LT1's ran 14.0 @ 100 in magazine tests and in the hands of real drivers I've seen 13.8s stock. A4's 14.0-14.2

 

Ive seen Cobras do that in 98 It was hard to tell what was stock because what apeared to be a bone stock 97 Firebird pulling into the water box, caught my attention because the driver had a 5 pt seatbelt wrapped around stock seats. Noone Ive seen put one in unless the rule require it so I had to watch that run. Sure enough it ran 11's I have no idea what he did to the car, but everything inside and out looked like midlevel firebird off the showroom lot asside from that 5pt. I never saw under the hood.

 

That would seem right with 275 rated HP and the weight of the car

 

LT1s were rated at 285hp I thought. Right? Its kinda hard to be exact when GM lies about their #'s! Some reason it always works out for the better though.

 

That depends on if it was single or dual cat model year.

 

If im not mistaken, LT1's went 265hp in 93 with Speed Density, 275hp from 94-95 with single cats, and 96-97 were 285hp with dual cats.

 

275 from the begining, 285 in '96-'97.

 

I hear ya stars, after seeing "Camero" for the 10th time, it was really getting old.

Seems those guys have alot of resentment towards the Corvette . All I could picture was a bunch of whiney little girls sitting in a circle going "God! Why do they keep comparing the GT500 to the Z06!! God! Cant they see they're different animals!! Gosh!!" (disclaimer: no 'stang hate here, just making fun of enthusiasts)

Oh well.

And their engine picks were kinda goofy too. One guy even predicted there wouldnt be a Z28 model produced. Ah well, it'll be a nice surprise...

 

I was actually refering to GTs, which is a sore spot for Cobra guys due to the 99 Power debacle.
