i might be that day. just because i wear band tees, have tattoos and piercings, and listen to metal and hardcore doesn't mean i can't afford the car when it comes out. i happen to make very good money and my girlfriend makes well over $40k a year and has more ink then i do. comments like that just remind me how close minded some people can be.

Re: Intro Music
Ummm, some of you guys really need to put down the crack pipe with the bad music you've come up with. Hiphop....NO, crazy head banging music...NO. Good ole Rock'n Roll....Yes.
Here is the introduction thats been going through my head......The room is dark, with just barely enough light, and silent. You can't see anything yet, but all of a sudden you hear a wicked V8 rumble. Then you hear the intro music to 2001 start.....As the 2001 theme music starts to build you see two HID headlight beams way back through a fog/smoke, they start to slowly move out toward center stage, with some wicked revs. Suddenly the 2001 theme hits its climax and strategicly placed strobing pyrotechnics go off with a loud bang, giving you the first look. The car rolls out to a slowly turning display, the 2001 music fades out, and a selected rock 'n roll song fades in(several have brought up Sweet Emotion). As the car gets to the turning display, spot lights from above quickly flash around the car. There are 2 passengers in the car the driver gets out and its Scott Settlemire and the passenger gets out and its Bob Lutz. Introducting the NEW CAMARO. The car stops turning and Scott steps up and breifly starts talking about the heritage of the Camaro, then Bob starts talking about the concept and what to expect in the near future. And finally invites everyone on stage for a closer look.
Man... I should be working for GM .

know what i was thinking about before............remember the 4th gen commercial with the kids guessing what car it was by the sound. could they make a new version of that for the big screen before the car rolls out?

Re: Intro Music
For Beatle fans:
1) Have a video of an illegal street race between the new Camaro and the Mustang. Of course, we know who wins the race and in the background, you hear, "Why don't We do it in the Road?" Nah.... wouldn't fly....
2) In a reference to the white album, when the car is unveiled, the only thing you hear is a voice saying, "Number Five. Number five. Number Five...." Nah... Wouldn't fly....
3) How about an instrumental version of the original "Revolution"? It's an American Revolution.

I absolutely hope you buy a new camaro, I fully intend to. However, you tend to not be the mainstream buyer for this car and as such, it wouldn't make much sense for GM to introduce the car by playing hardcore would it? You do want the car to sell right?

i never expected once to hear Hatebreed as the car rolls on stage. i know this is a corporate event that must appeal to everyone. and of course i want the car to sell, or else we won't have our 6th gen forum .
maybe i just read the comment the wrong way, but it did seem to be pointing to the fact that people like myself would not be able to afford the car. and i know people like me don't make up the "mainstream", but you'd be surprised how many gearheads there are that are into the metal/hardcore scene with money to burn. it's not like the old punk days of the late 70s anymore .

"Without Me" by Eminem
Just think of how it starts off ...
"Guess who's back ... back again ... guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, nah nah nah ..."
... I think it'll be awesome!! I'm not even joking . If you don't know the song, I found a sample clip on this page (scroll down to "Eminem - song clips" and click on the one for "Without Me"). Maybe Eminem isn't everyone's favorite artist, but it may draw attention from a younger crowd as well??

Seriously though, "Are you gonna go my way" by Lenny Kravitz over racetrack/fender-cam footage.

now is the time for me to rise to my feet
wipe the spit from my face
wipe these tears from my eyes
i've got to take my life back
one chance to make it right
i've gotta have my voice be heard
and bring meaning to this life
cause i trusted for nothing
i've been led astray
i've been tried and tested
but i won't accept defeat
now i've done things i regret
and now it's time to reverse the rolls
i just want to make good on the promises i've made
i will be
i will be heard
i will be heard

Re: Intro Music
I don't think anyone else has said this but how about Hendrix version of the star spangled banner. After all I thiknk it matches up with the American Revolution idea and you can't tell me the suits didn't used to rock out to some hendrix way back when. Hey it is our national anthem.
