Jason and Chris -- some thoughts.....

Jason and Chris -- I really wish I could have been there when each of you took delivery of your new Camaros last week.............

The two of you (or as we'd say in Pennsylvania-- 'The two of youse' ) -- more than anyone -- had so much to do with the Camaro coming back.

You never waivered in your faith that it WOULD come back.

You spent thousands upon thousands of hours providing this site to the community.

You created an outlet whereby Camaro enthusiasts could 'write' notes to GM with their thoughts on WHY we needed a new Camaro. Those thousands of letters were very helpful in meetings - and they were impressive, not only in their content - but by the sheer size of the 'piles' of letters.....

You 'toughed it out' when most said you were crazy.........

You inspired me in moments when I had dark thoughts..........

You allowed me to voice my frustrations over several hamburgers over the years.......and you had the right words to give me perspective.

Jason -- you became a great "Disciple" when we needed Enthusiast input

I loved to 'watch' thru your eyes as the new Camaro came to fruition -- and it gave this "old guy" a new sense of wonder..........I can't quite describe my feelings as I watched you :

...during the reception at the GM Heritage Center on 1-8-06
......during the unveil on 1-9-06
............driving the Silver Concept at the Milford Proving Grounds in the spring of 2006.............

..........and then Jason -- your reaction during your time as "One of the Disciples" -- and the first time you actually SAW a production intent Camaro -- well -- FOUR production intent Camaros...........

You and Chris continued to put Podcasts out there -- and to answer questions - and to moderate the site -- and to keep people focused on the Camaro............

....and so if there were ever two people that deserve to get behind the wheel of a new 2010 Camaro -- it is Jason Debler and Chris Frezza.

On behalf of the entire team - THANK YOU -- most sincerely -- for all you do and have done for far more than a decade!

One thing to add Jason & Chris.

This site is the very 1st site I became a member of.

I started off under a different name (don't even remember what it was), and the only computer I had access to at the time was at work an hour or so in the morning if I got in before everyone else (back in the day before filters, firewalls, and "history" put a damper on all that).

This site was the site that took a personal hobby of mine (corresponding with people in the auto industry, and keeping track of what was going on behind the scenes... especially at Chrysler and Holden, and through the back door at GM) and was able to share some and hint at others (and get chastized for quite a few) with members here over the years.

This site also enabled me to expand the people I know in the industry from a handful to quite a few great people including some of the top people in product development and media, both print as well as inside automotive companies.

I've also found out from many of the same people how much I didn't know about the auto industry, and they have been more than willing to "educate" me.

And because of this, I've posted on this site far more than others, and have often broken stories and posted information here that I don't on others. If I have only a short time on the computer (time to surf the internet has ironically has gotten scarce since I "retired" from my 1st career) next to my e-mail and a quick check on what's going on in the world, I make it a point to stop here and check out at least a couple of threads (I rarely get a chance to go through each new one anymore).

Jason and Chris, thanks for creating a great site that has stood the test of time.

It's what?.... been 10 years now?

Hope for another 10..... at least!

Guy

As I recall, the site went live on Christmas Eve, 1996. That would mean the site is working on year 13 right now.

Or maybe it was '97. I can never remember. Either way, more than ten years.

Wow...I just don't know what to say.

I sometimes think that when you know you are doing something that is right, there are no mistakes that can be made.

Whatever good we did, we couldn't have done it without everyone who supported us so far. It wasn't always easy, and it wasn't always hard but in the end we are just glad to be able to be a part of things and are excited about continuing in the future.

I have so many things to say about the last 7 years that I need to settle them down so I can get them in order or it will be a convoluted mess or random brain spew. Things like the day I took delivery in my 2002 Camaro SS, the day after St. Therese ceased production, I wasn't as excited because I was wishing I knew what was going to happen with the Camaro after that year. I cannot believe it has been so long and as a result, I cannot believe that there is finally a new Camaro in my garage. The thrill I get when I snap into remembering that it is really there waiting for me is just like the day I got my very first Camaro.

I will also say that there is nothing that anyone can say to shake my happiness with this car I have achieved in the few short hours and few hundred miles I have had with it. I like it more every time I drive it. Even if there was no one else on the road to notice when I drive it (and they do), it wouldn't make any difference. I don't care how many faults that can be pointed out (minor and major by myself as well as others), I feel that this is without a doubt the most incredible car I have ever owned, by a long, long measure.

Thanks.

Thank you so much for the kind words Scott.

It's been a long road, with lots of bumps in them, but we finally made it to the finish line...and man does it ever feel good! There has been a lot of support along the way, and for that I thank everyone at GM and members of this site.

Taking delivery of my new 2010 Camaro ranks right up there with some of the most important events in my life.

Welcome back friend, welcome back.

I am a baby in this little big neighborhood here, but when I heard the camaro was coming back, I found this site. Yeah I looked at the,"5 and dime" forum. There isn't as much activity here, but as was indicated there IS serious history. I would like to think with the cars resurrection this place will come alive again.
I too thank,"THE BIG THREE" and those others responsible not only for this site, but the return of a car that should never have went away!

Jason and Chris,

you guys deserve more than we camaro nuts as community can come up with.. since you guys keep this community running and going strong even in the darkest of times... back in the early 2000's.

The way we can repay you guys is by all you have done is by showing how strong we are as a community.

Keep the good work coming and we will be here!

I'd like to think of it as a new starting line. There are miles to go before we sleep.

Congratulations, Chris and Jason!

"feel that this is without a doubt the most incredible car I have ever owned, by a long, long measure."
I agree. I bitch about a few small things but heck every car I have ever owned has some small stuff I dont like.
When I turn the switchblade key and hear that LS3 come to life and watch the gages do their cool round the world spin and back I think I am the luckiest person in this part of the world...
The boys and girls in Oshawa done GOOD. The boys and girls in StCatherines at the engine plant done GOOD too.
Yes, GM can build damn nice cars. Tell your friends and neighbors to go out and support this product.

Jason, it was nice meeting you at Salivans a few months ago. I had a great time with everyone that came out there. I probably wouldn't have thought of signing up here if it wasn't for THREE that took me for a ride in the 2SS and was asking me about which sites I post on.

Thank you Jason and Chris for everything that you have done! Congrats to both of you for getting your Camaros!
