Kind of like the white C6 Z06 pictures that appeared that was being done by an independent shop...
GM and every other car company on earth farms out countless projects, one offs, concepts, and even race cars to independant engineering and materials firms. It's a fact of life, and a way to work around logistical problems.

Saleen is a highly respected and extremely experienced independant manufacturer that makes money off of low volume customized vehicles, with their own small scale engineering and manufacturing methods that are better suited to a project like this than a larger company like GM. Add to this the fact that Saleen is expanding their line to include GM vehicles, and it all makes sense.

The only thing I am worried about, and i know this is probably dilusional but here we go.

Saleen and Ford are REALLY tight. I hope that Saleen didnt put together the Camaro and then go report back to ford on it like little rats. I know some people that have worked for Steve Saleen and i hear he is pretty much a snake like that sometimes. He puts on a good persona, but in reality he isnt like that at all.

Im probably just being paranoid, and Im sure that thier wasnt that much they could have learned from the car, but its still something to think about.

Report on what? The body design of the concept? I doubt they had much to say, and even still, I have a feeling they are bound by an NDA.

I finally saw Transformers a week or so ago in NY. It was entertaining, even my date enjoyed it. I don't think it's quite as remarkable as some f-body enthusiasts have been raving about but good nonetheless.

It did reinforce my opinions on the 5th gen's styling though. Clean up the 2nd gen in the movie and give it tighter gaps and it would look newer than the 5th gen. The F22's sure get the blood pumping though!

No cheering for the Camaro in this theater but it was a bunch of import lovin' Long Islanders we're talking about here.

I just saw it friday and I loved it. They made Bumble Bee look better than the orange or silver real concepts. The headlights looked alot better than the concepts, and the angles were stunning. Its hard for even GM to compete with Micheal Bay and Stephen Spielburg to make the car look that good. In fact, I wish they would do the Camaro comercials. The Bumble bee Camaro definately has it flaws and ALL of them were edited out. It looked like they brakes may have even been computer generated to look real. Its a movie prop and Id rather GM be focused on the real car for production and at the time the convertible concept. One of the things I like best about it is, that they can drive it around with little consequences. The car wasnt even meant to be a show car. Saleen is a great company. I cant understand where you are comming from...
