Just wanted to say "Thank You" ......

---want to thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers.

I'm very fortunate....first, for having friends like all of you -- thinking of me...and for the prayers. Second -- for LRDVADR (Dr Neil) and the other Docs that are taking care of me.

I had warnings -- moderate to heavy chest pains -- and that lead me to get a stress test and find out that there was, indeed, blockage. There does not appear to be any heart damage-- which is great news.
Turns out I had 90 percent blockage in one vein-- and 60 percent in another.....they were able to put in stents -- and this should take care of part of the problem. Of course, the other part is diet and smoking.

As one friend said on another board -- "If you're gonna smoke -- smoke a Mustang, not cigarettes......"--- so I'm giving them up. As to Diet -- I've never been a "leafy greens" kinda guy -- but it appears I'm gonna have to knock off the large amounts of cheese and other things that I have been eating.......

Anyway - feeling better -- taking it easy for a week or so--

Thanks -- again -- for your kind words and thoughts and prayers. I'm humbled to have so many great people around me!

Does that mean you came down to PA? Lots of good hospitals around here.

Glad to hear everything is OK! I wish you a speedy recovery.

My dad had the same problem, a 95% blockage in one artery. He had a stent put in also. Strange thing was, though, that he'd given up smoking over a decade before, and he exercised daily and ate the right foods most of the time. I guess once it starts to set in there's not much you can do about it until you detect it. I remember hearing a report about test done to Navy SEALS - even with all the strenuous physical training they go through, a lot of them still had build-ups of plaque in their arteries.

good luck on quitting the cigarettes, this seems like a great motivation to stop.. i don't think you'll want to go through this experience again

I wish you a speedy recovery. As for the nicotine habit, you might lose a battle or two , but keep fighting the temptation and you will win the war. You gotta do it. Cheese may be harder to kick.

If youre gonna quit, best chance is when you have reason and want to. I havent had one since early October. You can pull this off. Glad you're feeling better Scott.
