Kid Rock Given 2011 Camaro SS For His Birthday

Check out the picture of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS that was tricked out for Kid Rock. Chevrolet presented the Detroit rocker with the gift at his 40th birthday party in Detroit on January 15, 2011.

GM, my birthday is September 17th. Summit white with Inferno orange stripes, please.
It's worth a shot...

Because it is a great opportunity for Chevrolet to get the car out in front of a lot of people. Not to mention, they look like "good guys" giving the Kid a kick *** Christmas gift.

I believe he does a lot of free press for Chevy praising the Camaro on TV and all.

"Made in Detroit" gas cap? False advertising?

Hey, the gas cap can infact be "Made in Detroit"

I'm hearing the interior has some special touches too. I'm hoping Chevy has some press photo's available sometime this afternoon or tomorrow. That is one bad ride.

Such a wonderful use of all those tax dollars. We can't get a RWD sedan or a Z28, but they can GIVE AWAY custom Camaros to celebrities? **** that ****.

I don't mean to offend, but there are so many things wrong with that statement that I do not know where to begin.

The tax dollar thing? That is something that we as tax payers are getting paid back...with interest.

RWD sedan? If people would buy more, they would make more. There's a reason there are not as many companies making them as there used to. They don't sell. Z28? I have heard people say the "Z28" is the worst kept secret in the automotive industry. I don't know for sure, but we shall see.

Giving away a custom Camaro...in front of MILLIONS of people (combined with the people there, the people reporting on it, and the people seeing the after effects...like you and I here in this thread) is called incredibly cheap advertising. A car that cost them $30k is a mind scrambling bargain compared to the production of ONE commercial that costs millions to syndicate, and millions more to place. Of the two, what would YOU rather they spend our tax money on? I'll take cheap advertising for 30k, Alex. Heck...the cost of that car is tons cheaper than one single color full-page magazine ad campaign.

Chrysler has pretty effectively shown that done right, RWD sedans can be very successful. I'll agree with the rest of your post.

Is it "fair" that Chevrolet just gave Bob Ritchie a Camaro when the rest of us have to buy one? I dunno, is it "fair" that I don't live in the same size house he lives in, makes the money he does, has the fame and marketing pull he has? Meh...
