Thumbs up L99 dyno results with Borla long tube headers, tune and intake

As I have mentioned in other posts, my car is currently being used by Vector Motorsports to develop L99 tuning.

They installed my newly acquired Borla long tube headers (which I will mention in another thread) and then wanted to see what it would pick up with those installed and an intake.

First, the installation with Borla LT headers were amazingly simple. I stood there and watched the Vector technician remove my factory manifolds and install the headers in about 35 minutes with me in the way taking photos. They slid right in, fitment was perfect. I have some pics I will post later.

Here's the dyno data...

Gains
RPM - TQ - HP
3500 - 38 - 25
4000 - 45 - 34
4500 - 48 - 40
5000 - 41 - 41
5500 - 42 - 42
6000 - 25 - 33
6200 - 44 - 53

DYNO SHEET

I know there is more tweaking involved. I am not keeping the intake on the car, I have my own. In case you haven't been following, while I am there, I am having them install a supercharger (and more), but that is in another thread. Keep an eye out for a new thread about a bunch more cool stuff happening.

Nice gains so far! Did you already have an aftermarket exhaust on?

So your baseline really was base...totally stock right? That's a pretty good gain from headers and a CAI. Did you have a tune done or is it the stock program? Also, what are you going to do w/ the AFM? If you leave it on, please report how it sounds when in 4cyls once you have the Borla Touring on.

Carry on...

Whats the deal with the low gains at 6000 RPM? Is it just lack of accurate data gathering above that point?

Completely stock. Well...except for a SmoothLock.

I belive that is with a basic (not fully tweaked) tune.

I am going to kiss it goodbye with an LS9 camshaft.

I can already tell you what it sounds like...not very good, at least according to folks who have heard it.

No clue, I wasn't there when they did the dyno.

Very nice gains indeed for such simple mods.

53 hp gain with tune and exhaust is pretty good. Anybody would be happy with that.

More impressive is the torque gain.
