my L99
I have not been to track yet... but there are some nice videos, on You Tube, showing car running around 13.70 I will expect my car to go that fast I might even turn A/C off lol Hennessey tested one pure stock before mods... i think with a tune and some sticky tires a L99 will run low 13's high 12's

I think he is referencing this post you made in another thread...
No, they are not "that weak" and "nuff said" doesn't apply.
There are probably a few dozen more variables that make the difference. Any magazine road test of the same car will yield different results due to this.
Our buddy Tim Deyoung went 12.84 @ 108 with a tune only about a year ago in his L99 car.
- Who was driving?
- Did they know what they were doing?
- How were they shifting? Auto or tap-shifting?
- What octane gas did they have in the tank?
- Did they heat up the tires?
- Did they spin the tires?
- How many miles were on the car?

When you call the L99 a POS in another thread, what do you expect.
Lucky I'm not joining in.
The L99 you saw at a race track with that time (assuming it's true to begin with) likely
a. Had a computer still in Break-in mode.
b. Had traction control on.
c. Had a driver that either didn't react as quickly as he should have or hasn't found the right way to launch his car yet.
Either way:
1. You made a judegment on a single situation.
2. Even at the speed and time you mentioned, that is still a VERY respectible time in any car.
3. You already created an reputation for yourself within 10 posts.
Congratulations.

True, I Did make a Judgement call, and Yes I did go a little TOO Far in the other thread, but I am pissed, I'm a Serious racer, therefore I Prefer Automatics (aka the 87GN), and it just sucks that there is no LS3 stock......

1. You are likely to modify your car, so the crack about the L99 makes even less sense than it already does.
2. I doubt you are going to take a $34K car, finance it for the next 5 to 6 years, and then void warranty on the car 30 ways to Sunday "seriously racing the thing.
3. If you were an occasional racer and If you were going to buy a new car based on it's performance numbers, I suspect you would go for the quickest combination available. Regardless as to if we're talking Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger, that's going to be the manual... that means the the LS3 and manual.
If you are "pissed" because the automatic isn't as quick as the manaul, being that you didn't buy the car, aren't making payments, and haven't been mislead into committing many years worth of of your hard earned cash because somebody made you buy something by misleading you, I suggest you take an anger management class.
Being that you aren't out of anything, and a quicker LS3 Camaro is available at no additional cost over the L99 automatic , you have no reason to be "pissed" at anything.
Let alone make some of the posts I've read from you to date.

Well turboba6, maybe Bob Cosby is a serious racer and doesn't like your post that implies that serious racers don't have manual cars.
Also (after the greeting 'guys'), the first 3 words of your post say your not going to buy a Camaro. So, if you've already made up your mind, why are you still here? Why are you continuing to take 'shots' at the Camaro--on a Camaro website? You have to know that that would upset people on this site.
IF your a serious racer, why don't you know that 1/4 mile times in the 14's are unusual for the 5th gen SS? IF your a serious racer, wouldn't you know that driver experience (plus track/weather conditions) make a huge difference in 1/4 mile times? Have you read any articles on the L99 5th gen? What did they say about it's 1/4 mile times? If you were SERIOUSLY thinking about buying one, I'd think you would have done a little research first.
Maybe your not trying to upset people, but in less than 10 posts your throwing around words like weak and 'pos', really what did you expect?

- Did they drive straight through the water box?
- Did they sweep out the waterbox rocks and extra water before entering?
In a waterbox you want the least amount of water that will still free up the tires and relieve the strain on your drive train.
If you must spin radials,
- make sure the rocks are swept out of the way of your path.
- Like any burn out, make sure the divide between the wet and dry surface is even across so you know what you have.
- Drive around the water box and then line your rear up with the groove
-back up so both rear tires are half on and half off the water.
- start your burn out and dont stop until the tires are dry
- hope you dont have water dripping down on the tires from your fender walls while sitting at the tree. - Was there water dripping down from the fenders on his radial tires?
- Was he in the grove
- Essentially what Jason said was there a good launch and was the motor broke in.
