Leaked Concept Exterior, too retro? just right? not retro enough?

i've searched this forum for similar polls, being a newbie to this board i didn't want to do something that's already been done.. i did find a post asking a similar question about the leaked interior sketches.. and a poll asking if they liked the car or not.. but nothing really dealing with the retroness of the exterior..

i see more "i hate it, it's too retro" comments than i expected after seeing this.. my first thoughts were "thank god it's not as retro as the mustang, challenger, or some of the non GM related concept renderings".. (i have thorough and comlicated thoughts don't i )

anyway.. my thoughts: it's not perfect but it's not retro.. when i look at the new mustang, it looks like a 64 mustang.. but that's not as bad as the challenger pics leaking around.. those look EXACTLY like a 70 challenger.. i mean if i saw this concept i'd probably think it was a late 60s/early 70s mopar.. actually 35 years or so old..

when i look at the leaked Camaro pictures it looks like a modern coupe to me.. sure it's got that full width front girll w/ embedded headlamps.. it's got the coke bottle rear fenders. a very similar greenhouse.. but when i look at that i don't think anyone could mistake it for a 1st gen by accident like i could mistake the challenger

enough of my thoughts, just vote dagnabbit!

Just remember the picture DO NOT reflect EXACTLY what the REAL NAIAS concept will look like. Those pictures represent a theme and were taken over a year ago.

Anyway, I voted "A great blend of modern and retro styling!"

yeah, it's at that point of being annoying retro, in my opinion.

I voted a good blend, I somehow think the concept we'll see will have a few more modern (gen)cues and smoothed out a little. I know there's a long way from clay to concept, and concept to production.

IMO what you get is a decent mixture. I wish they hadn't decided to go retro w/ it, but if thats the way they go, its not too bad of a job. Its a pretty good mix of retro lines w/ new styling. I wish they had gone a little more retro on the front end though.

i checked all the polls in this forum.. there's a poll on whether you like the concept and what changes you'd make.. and there's a poll on what the retroness of the interior should be.. nothing specifically polling peoples opinion on the retroness of the exterior styling

I think it's a great blend, and I'm confident that seeing the real thing in the flesh in 27 days will affirm my belief.

It doesn't matter. The photos were of one side of a pre-concept clay.

Wait another 30-days if you want to see the real thing.

I liked what I saw so far, and it obviously wasn't done yet. I will be reserving my final judgement, till we see a finished concept. I have to say everyone in my household (2 women & 2 teenagers), all thought it was pretty hot, and were pretty excited about it, when I showed them the pics. And I blocked the text, and asked what does that look like to you? They were all pretty blown away by it, and responded immediately with a, " is that gonna be the new Camaro?", That's Hot! I am dying to see what the rear end really looks like, the pictures made it hard to see any of the details. Oh, and I thought I saw a bit of XLR and C6 in the rear body.
