They're gonna have to go to double digits when they start naming the different versions of the blown LS3 6.2!

Best regardSS,

What do we know about the LS3?

We know its the car equivalent of the L92 that's going into the Escalade and Tahoe right now.

6.2L displacement
Variable valve timing thanks to a unique cam phaser
LS7 style cylinder heads

Should be 425hp easily. The L92 is 403 hp in truck form.

I've read that the LS designation is done after this year. I remember Scott mentioning something about a new designation, probably to go along with a new type of SBC.

Th Lsx designation is supposed to be gone but its not going to be an all new small block. It will still be closely related to the LSx engines.

Fine by me, as long as they are keeping up and setting the bar for ingenuity and reliability.

Im sure progression is always a priority of some kind.

LSx motors are already reliable.Mines got 150,000 on the clock now and still runs great.

Rick Conti on Digitalcorvettes.com is pretty certain about the LS3 designation, and his info is usually dead on.

Nah, they'll just reuse them like they did LS6 and LS7 from the late 60's early 70's... but those LSes were big blocks.

Reality is that they technically are nothing more than RPO numbers.

You can't get the L92 in the Tahoe.
