You just inadvertantly confirmed what he was saying. The original Cuda/Challenger was a blatant rip-off of the 1st gen Camaro, at least the B/C pillar was, and that's what he was saying.
Therefore, it makes sense that the new one looks like the old one, it's also a blatant copy of the original...which just happens to look alot like the 1st gen Camaro's as well.

CJMatt doesn't seem to think so.
The 1st gen Barracuda (1964):
The 1st gen Camaro (1967)
Guess I'll have to go with CJMatt on this one.
FWIW: Assuming you're talking about the last gen Cuda/Challengers, I'd say the final gen E-bodies were closer to a Corvair Monza than a Camaro in rear section design (especially the side body crease that pass above the wheel arches... which also have the same shapes, as well as the squared out inserts below the rear bumper that serves as engine heat vents in the Corvair & exhaust pipe outlets in the C/C):
Pretty intresting, huh?

The Camaro is a mean design.
The Mustang was a cool design back in 2005, but the GT500 is horrible looking. The Giugaro or whatever Mustang looks really good though.
The Challenger needs some work. It looks like a Hot Wheels car right now and needs some improved styling.

My personal favorite is the Mustang.I am very partial to that body style.
2nd Choice would be the Challenger as that is just bad even if it is a Chrysler product.I am not very impressed with the new Camaro. The convertible is definetly more attractive than the coupe.I just think GM is a day late and a dollar short. It will be interesting to see how well it sells once it hits the dealers.

The Camaro is a modern, original interpretation of a classic. The Challenger is an unapologetic, unabashed throwback. They are both sensational but for somewhat different reasons. The Mustang is complete & utter milquetoast in comparison to either of them.

I agree with your analysis. However, the sales of the Mustang are nothing short of phenomenal. Sales are the only thing that really counts.
