I have a suggestion: Why cant the mail slot be moved from the front facia to the hood area? Would this not create a functional air slot? I feel it looks better. Here is a horrible chop.

Interesting thought ... kinda makes me think of a firebird though.

 

You might see an aftermarket company do that and give you a fascia with no slot in it. So it will have to be fascia + hood combo. However, it’s way more expensive to produce slotted hoods than slotted fascias.

 

I thought the same thing. Just move the slot up to the hood therefore you can make it functional.

 

those headlights look so much better. it looks more aggressive.

 

Somebody needs to cut the mail slot open and adapt a 4th gen airlid. I wonder if there is room?

Better yet, move it up to the hood so that those who don't want it can get rid of it just by changing the hood.

Guess Im in the minority here. I think any scoop in the hood completely ruins the cowl lines.

 

I agree, and I agree that if it were moved right up to the hood it would be great, because someone could make a hood that jutted forward and filled it in..

I like the mail slot just as much as the slot-less one. But putting iton the hood looks kinda cheezy.

Yeah but I wonder how many people just want it moved to the hood so they can replace the hood rather than the bumper cover? Replacing it by the way with the smooth cowl hood the car has now. i can take or leave that Z06 ram air in the bumper cover but the hood as it stands without the Mail slot and with the unmolested cowl is perfect.
