Angry To many people want the new camaro!

I'm hearing it way to often now from people all over saying they are "gonna get" the new Camaro and I'm beginning to think there is going be fleets of them on the road once they come out. People at work who've never really cared about camaro's before all of a sudden are huge fans and are counting the days til it's release. To many posers are going to be driving them and people like me who wish they could afford it are going to have it rubbed in their faces. Anyone else hearing from people who never talked about camaros or even cars for that matter saying they are "gonna get" the new camaro?

Well with the MSRP expected to be from 17k-31k it's basically affordable for everyone

Chevy should be so lucky as to really have everyone and their mother wanting to get a new camaro. Are you high?

just because people say they are "gonna get" one, doesn't mean they'll actually run right out and buy one.

While I'd like them to be big sellers and make the Camaro a huge hit again...seeing them everywhere is gonna make make owning one a little less fun. But nothing some mods can't fix...just gotta make mine different.

I've only heard from a miniscule amount of people say they want one. I can't say whether they'll be able to afford it or not. I've heard quite a few people say it's nice looking though.

I only know 2 people that DEFINITELY want one, AND can afford it.

Myself and my father.

Though my father has been told he can't get one until I have mine. LOL He said that's acceptable since I've been the bigger Camaro fan all along (even though he did have a couple in the past).

I'd love to see the 2009 hit the late 70s sales records - the more the merrier, and the more people talking about it the better.

I understand the OP's frustration, he is afraid it will become just like the Mustang, everywhere and in turn, unremarkable. And that the "mustang types" will be giving the Camaro a bad name. I disagree and think the Camaro is beyond this. Let's face it, the Camaro will never overrun the Mustang in popularity.

Are you nuts ?

The alternative is not enough people buying them which would lead it to being killed off again. SURELY that's not what you want, right?

If someone feels they're going to "have it rubbed in their face" because they can't afford it, well, they may have some self esteem issues.

.........actually, come to think of it, the person that CAN AFFORD it and then "rubs it in the face" of the person who can't, is the one with the real self esteem issues.

Even the cheap bastards in my office are ready to purchase as soon as it's available. If even these two are buying this car will sell like hot cakes. It can't be a bad thing to have too many people buying these. We do want this car around for a long time to come don't we?
