More Bang for Your Buck

The Camaro has always been known as the average joe's sports car. A car that gave you a lot of power for a fair price. We all know it's going to outsell the Mustang so I'm not going to even touch that subject. But after watching the videos of the disciples driving both the V6 and the V8, seeing Elie's reaction when he drove the V6, and hearing the V6, I'm starting to wonder if the V6 is a better buy.

I know they're trying to get more young drivers to get the V6 so they can be happy with their purchase and stay away from high insurance rates which makes sense. But here are the three things that constantly pop into my head when I consider buying a Camaro.

1. The V6 gets just over 300hp which is basically a Mustang GT. I'll admit that I used to look at Mustang GTs because I love the way they sound. But for just a little more power, lower insurance rates, and a better looking car, I can get more with the V6 Camaro.

2. Nothing beats the sound of a V8. Period.

3. Pricing. I know there's no point in thinking about pricing because they haven't announced anything yet. But then again, I can't help but wonder how big the financial gap between the V6 and the V8 is going to be.

The car is so well constructed that it's practically a toss up on which one I want to get. That's why I wanted to ask the more experienced drivers and Camaro lovers. Which do you think will get you the more bang for your buck? Or which do you think is the best buy period?

C. I HIGHLY doubt it will outsell the Mustang.

im glad so many people are excited about the v6, but i for one will stick with the v8. granted there is no prices yet, but i feel the v8 will be more than worth it. i'm in a fairly good position to get the car i want. also, you said it yourself...nothing beats the sound of a v8

That's a fair question, and right off the bat, I'd say to me it would depend on how much money I'd have to spend. However, after reading an article talking about the DOHC in the V6, that really impresses me. Of course I'm not a hard core car racer or modder, just a guy who likes to cruise on the street.

You ARE right about one thing, NOTHING beats the sound of a V8. I do kind of wonder if the V6 can be altered to sound pretty good, itself.
