Doesn't look like it says CAMARO on the fender.

CTS-V calipers.

I wonder if they're covering up the Chevy logo because it's not gold. What instead? Black? Silver? Chrome? Blue? Orange? Pink?

What makes you say that? Looks like the regular SS hood.

That's what I originally thought but then the up close side shot looks slight different... or am I imagining things?

Yea I find that funny that they taped over the logo on the rear deck but then added a bowtie and #2 to the door.

I'd be all for Chevy bringing back the red outline bowtie back.

My money says the badge on the front fenders under the black tape says "SuperCharged" There appear to be a lot of characters covered up and hence what appears to be a smaller size font to get it to fit in that location.

Also do the rotors appear to be two piece?

And...why is the bottom of the car camo'd with the checker pattern. They usually do that to trick the eye into not seeing body lines. I looked real close but do not see anything unusual . Are the rear fenders flared at all to accommodate wider rubber?

It could be to measure acceleration/deceleration using high speed stop motion photography.

Good suggestion. I just went back and looked at the pictures and I stick by my first thoughts. I think they are trying to hide something. There isn't a consistent scale for measuring velocity. Still I'm not an expert. I imagine it's easier but more expensive to use accelerometers for those types of measurements.

the backup sensors are hidden, YAY!

i doubt the supercharged script on the side, im more concerned with what they mean by #2. test mule 2, test mule model type 2? mayeb its supposed ot keep me busy and not notice the lack of trying to get rid of the sharkfin antenna. whose idea was it to put such baller-pimp wheels on that thang?

Im wondering if its a Bowtie on the tail of that car or possibly a Z28 emblem.

Its a mule car so it could be anything but just a thought.

High-speed cameras are pretty expensive. An iPod Touch is $200 and along with a bunch of other stuff covered under that price, it has a three-axis accelerometer system that is probably plenty accurate for anything they would need to measure. I'm not suggesting that they use (or would use or should use) the iPod Touch to do the job -- just pointing out that the hardware is common and pretty inexpensive.

The point here is that it's probably both easier and less expensive to use accelerometers.

GPS would work too.

I think it's pretty safe to say, while "confirmed" isn't the right word to use, that the car Camaro5 was going crazy over is a Z28 in testing. I can't think of any other possible reason why they'd test it with a GT500.
