Motor Trend and Camaro

Motor Trend and Camaro
It took some digging, but I finally found the little blip that Motor Trend put out in their February issue regarding the Camaro (they didn't even bold the name like all the other cars in the paragraph it was in)...
They basically stated that they found it odd that a Camaro concept would be shown at the auto show and not a next-gen GTO. Then went on to say that just because GM shows a Camaro doesn't mean it's coming to a dealer. Can't remember the specifics but they really made it clear they don't believe this thing will ever make it to a dealer floor...
Kinda surprised me given all the recent banter on this board about the concepts "production." Thoughts...? (and don't just bash MT...)

All of the car rags pretty much suck if you're looking for future vehicle info, we know things here WAY WAY WAY faster then they do.
And MT sucks more then most, which is why when my sub expired last year I never renewed it.

Re: Motor Trend and Camaro
While MT does fill a lot of their pages with Euro junk that nobody cares about or can afford, they have always shown props to the muscle car community and IIRC in their 50th anniversary issue more than a few of the head writers/editors listed a certain car amongst their favorites OF ALL TIME...

Re: Motor Trend and Camaro
If you guys hate MT so much, what major car magazine DO you like? Automobile is incredibly biased towards anything that isn't American, so is C&D. Motor Trend is the only major car mag that ever gives any American car maker any credit whatsoever. They aren't going to pretend that an Impala is a better car than a 3 series BMW just to keep GM loyalists happy, but who would?

Re: Motor Trend and Camaro
Motor Trend's future vehicles editor is NOT any good at this. You could give this guy blueprints giftwrapped with a colorful bow made of gold, and he'd still tell you that you're wrong.
I'm not flaming the guy, just being honest. He's terribly misplaced in that job. I don't know if he relys on the automaker handing him official press information, if he has really bad contacts, or if he simply has his head in the sand or is simply collecting a paycheck and making stuff up.
The Magazine itself is OK, but I think they are a bunch of panzies for not posting top speeds anymore.
But the "future's" and "on-line" editor...... don't get me started!
BTW, FWIW: Automobile magazine also erroniously posted that GTO was coming back and Camaro was dead, but they are above making retarded, face saving (or a*s saving), backhanded comments when it's blantantly obvious they got something wrong as MT's guy is.
Did I say the MT's future's guy is lousy at his job?

Camaro is one SMALL part of the automotive universe.
