He's dead Jim.....
Seriously, the Z is going to be a 4xxx lb supercharged 550 hp car, that's a GT500 all the way. While the Boss sounds awesome, it ain't happening w/ Camaro on this architecture, we all know it. You have 3 options....
1. Hot cam a Camaro and add the pedders suspension to fix the handling
2. Buy a Boss
3. Wait for Alpha (if Camaro survives)
lol, I should start my own poll on that!

M3 base price = $56K. While competing with an M3 may be an aspirational goal, M3 is not directed at the same audience as Camaro, and it should not be. Granted a fully optioned Z28 is likely to get within 10K of the M3's base price, but the two cars will always play to two different audiences.

M3 vs CTS-V coupe?
M3 vs any Camaro?

We know what the premise has been in these polls, do you prefer
A) Lighter, slightly tuned, better handling
B) Heavier, uber-horsepower, straight line warrior
But as someone else said, I do admire your persistance.

Splitting hairs. Substitute Boss Mustang for M3 and it's basically the same poll.

Some comments though. Remember when alot of people started freaking out at even the thought of comparing an M3 to a future Z/28 package? Why? Dunno. Maybe they were afraid that fancy Italian loafers would be required with Z/28 ownership, if certain world class attributes were benchmarked? jg95z28 still gets fairly apoplectic when the topic comes up.
There is a BIG difference between benchmarking something good and becoming that thing. Had GM seriously benchmarked something like the M3 back then, (instead of having 2007 GT500 derangement syndrome), would we have gotten a "Boss type package" for the Camaro, impeccably time for 2012? We'll never know.
BTW, benchmarking the M3 can't be that crazy - Mustang did it. And I'm sure with good result.
